disturbance in the force??
Are you claiming a disturbance in the force? Surely you jest that the clubs would work to better their position in the realm...Are they on the dark side?

Looks like good decision for teams.
2000 ECNL, 99s bigger club and ability to stay with their coach
I believe he has stepped into another ECNL team

Not yet, just asking if anyone else heard the rumor. Movement or the threat of movement is good for players and coaches because it makes the club take care of its clients and employees. If a club will not or can not take care of a good coach/team, they should be able to move to better situation.

Or maybe the coach/team isn't as good as they think.

Agreed. it's all based on perception; we also know that movement does not guarantee success. Point is just as clubs don't (shouldn't) guarantee coach/players' their positions, coaches/players shouldnt have their (ecnl) destiny irrevocably tied to one club. That said, a club with too many good teams must be doing something right.

How does the whole contract/dues thing pan out in this scenario?

Re: What happened here!
As far as NTSSA rules go, a team can changes clubs and/or coaches at any time during the year, but it requires a parent of 100% of the players to sign off on the name change petition form.
My guess is that this is how it was done. Most players/parents are loyal to the coach, not the club, so if BW went to his teams and explained why he was switching clubs and was able to work out a deal with minimal financial impact and practice location impact to the families on his teams, they probably all signed the form.
I would also guess that if he had 1 or 2 families that were seriously unhappy with the move, he probably told them that if they agreed to sign the team name change petition, that he would sign a full competitive release for them after the move. At least that would be the smart thing to do in such a situation.
Again, this is all speculation on my part, but having been through something similar to this and knowing the NTSSA rules, I'd say this is likely what happened.

No club would refund the money. Let's not just say Liverpool. All Select Soccer in North Texas is about the dollar.

Guessing he left with his teams to FCD because FCDallas 00 LHGCL D1 division didnt have a team in that division and they would get the ECNL spot and it was a good opportunity to keep the team together and Ben could coach them.
Possibility of players leaving to FCD anyway might be big for an ECNL spot...also Liverpool FCA does not have an ECNL spot and or if they get a spot????? then the LP DOC's team might take BW top players and BW would not be coaching a top team. He left STING for a similar situation possibly???
The Dallas Clubs with ECNL spots will always need top teams and top players to compete...so if they do not have one like D'Feeters and FC Dallas...those clubs will have a huge need to have a top team. This is my guess as to why BW left and or why any other smart coach would leave.
That seems to be the strategy. If an ECNL Club is weak in an age group (Feet 99 and 00) (FCD 00), just go out and get a strong team team from a non ECNL Club. Coach will be motivated and us parents sure will be motivated. Or like with Feet getting a Solar team the past 2 years, the move for the team, means they will not have to compete at the the new club for ECNL as they would of if they stayed..

Sorry, I just took your three comments today about it as caring.
Why Leave? I thought I read on this txsoccer website that Liverpool would be getting the ECNL bid. Could that be wrong?
Some of the current ECNL Clubs have already communicated with ECNL that North Texas is too diluted with 5 teams. It will be next to impossible for NTX to win a National Championship in the 98s and below unless the top players in each age group migrate over to one or two teams. The ECNL contracts are suppose to be two years at a time, but you wont see LP or TFC or OK Blitz in ECNL until Feet or FCD or Ablion goes away...

Re: What happened here!
No, last I heard, the 00 Black team was fortified with a majority of the 00 Gold team and a few remaining Gold team players scattered to other LH teams or are out for injuries and other persuits. Presumably Juve Black will be changing their banner after this season to FCD East. Juve North and Royal are now Meja North and Galaxy(Meja United) respectivel. Galaxy too will be changing their banner soon. As for the 03 Black I think they have already changed to FCD East Predators. As for the rest of the Juve teams, I think most went to Meja. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.skills wrote:Didn't FCD take over all Juve ?

LF not BW moved from Longhorns, Sting, LP. BW has only moved this team from LP to FCD

Re: What happened here!
While I'm sure there are some that look negatively upon the numerous moves, IMO they were all done with the best interest of the team primarily in mind. Whether the move was to a to a better club (LH -> Sting), a better financial situation for the parents (Sting -> LP), or a much better club/future (LP -> FCD).

Not entirely accurate. BW moved his 99's and LF moved his 00's.

I am not sure LH counts as an actual club.
