Reminder for Uniform Donations this Saturday 10/20 @ Railroad
Reminder for Uniform Donations this Saturday 10/20 @ Railroad
In answer to some questions since original post:
1) We will take boys/girls game uniforms, practice uniforms, cleats, shin guards, warm ups, bags, etc. Ideally we get some complete team sets so we can outfit complete teams, but we all know the adage about beggars and their selection options.
2) Rec or Select uniforms are fine.
3) We should be there all day - please keep it interesting by stopping by to donate! To make it worth your while, we'll be happy to engage in lively debate about referee quality, dirty play, or any of the other active topics. You can choose which side of the issue and we'll take the other.
4) We will be doing another collection at a PYSA location. Most likely 10/27 @ a large complex off McDermott to be names later - waiting for city approval.
5) We will also try to do a collection in the spring.
I know we all have closets full of uniforms, please take a few minutes to clear them out and consider donating. It would be very cool to see kids on a dirt field in another part of the world wearing your child's colors.
Thanking you all in advance. And for those of you who didn't read original post:
FC Dallas Foundation’s “Gear Up Project” collects new and used soccer gear from organizations, teams, clubs and individuals (Boys and Girls) and redistributes them to help youth enjoy the sport they love, soccer. Lake Highlands Girls Classic League is cooperating in this effort, and we encourage all North Texas clubs, their teams, and their players to come together to help. The goal is collect complete soccer kits (game uniforms, practice uniforms, backpacks, etc.), used balls, gently used cleats, shin guards, and training equipment.
Collected items will be donated to children throughout the area and the world through a number of partner organizations. Imagine seeing a team of children in another country wearing your team’s uniforms!
Our first collection will be held Saturday, October 20 @ Railroad Park (in the pavilion). If you would like to donate, but will not be able to bring your uniform to Railroad, we may be able to arrange for an alternate drop off date/time (or even a pickup @ your team's training location).
If you have any questions or would like to lend a hand, please contact Steve Wildman (steve_wildman@swbell.net or (214} 725-6227). Thank you in advance for your support of this wonderful opportunity to benefit less fortunate young players throughout the world!

We will continue collecting - waiting for approval to go out to Russell Creek this weekend. I can also come by any training facility or field location if there are teams wishing to donate.
