Congrats to Dalglish.
Congrats to your Barnes girls as well, Wolf. Seems they showed very well. And Texas Spirit also looks to be an extremely salty team! This coming season should be fun to watch unfold as there are so many strong 04 teams.

On what basis?
TGPL teams won both tournaments this weekend - Xara (Dalglish) and AFC tournament (DTS).
End of story.

Re: GLASA Xara U9 Team List
I don't understand this obsession of one league being better than another. There are good teams in several leagues. Just because a team plays in SDL doesn't mean they're weaker or scared. Just because a team plays in TGPL doesn't mean they're better than another team. Evaluate a team for how they play, not what league they're in.
From what I hear, the Odyssey and LP Barnes teams gave the other teams all they could handle. I don't think any of their opponents would say they were easy games and they don't play in either league.
I would like to hear commentary on the games? Obviously Dalglish and DTS won their tournaments. They deserve respect and the #2 and #3 rankings at this point. But it doesn't seem like it was an easy road for either team with all teams taking losses this weekend. Anybody from the two winners on here have opinions about their opponents?

There are certainly teams not in TGPL that SHOULD be in a perfect world. That being said, all of your TGPL games are tough while the top teams in other leagues breeze through the majority of their games in those leagues.
At this point nailing down 5-10 is tough in the 04s as there are probably 10 teams you can argue for in those slots. Still a year and a half until QT and much movement to be made. In other words... it's still very early.

Dalglish did not play their greatest soccer this weekend, but they kept fighting and did what they needed to do to win. The scores did not truly reflect the games. LP put lots of pressure on the opponents and had plenty of opportunities but couldn't quite seem to capitolize. Sting Goodman IMO, was the better of the Sting teams that we've faced this year. Out of the 6 goals Dalglish gave up this weekend, 4 were from PK's. Again, wasn't their best, but fought to the end to win it, and without their forward, who will be back for the PT tourney this weekend.

Re: GLASA Xara U9 Team List
be a nice change to hear from the liverpool world. Congrats on your tourney win girls, you play good soccer.
At the awards ceremony it was "nice game TX Spirit but we didnt
play well." ??? Uhhh, well thanks for the open complimentary insult.
Enjoyed the tourney alot. Sting Goodman was impressive when
we played them. Good skills and teamwork during the game they
played us.
Barnes did well too and each game was a great battle. On any
given day these gold teams could beat one another.
Our game against Odyssey was TOUGH and their coach is doing
a good job with them. We didnt play them but saw DTscott lose in a pk shootout, they are a quality team and missed getting to
the final by a whisker against daglish whom didnt play well i assume.
I am proud of our girls on the team , they gave it their all
and that's all that matters in grand scheme of things. A long time before U11 and club, so until then let the games play on
and lets have some more FUN competing against each other in the near future.

When he addressed his own team he told them they didn't play at their best this weekend but they showed great fight to win another tournament.
I can not stand this kind of distorting of information.

Re: GLASA Xara U9 Team List
You have a great team no doubt. What we say about our team has no bearing on your team. We didnt say you didnt play well. In fact our coach complimented your team and your coach.
You might try being a little more confident and not so insecure about what other people say about their own teams. We are each our own worst critics. Unless it comes to LP Dalglish or RASE then the rest of you are our worst critics !
Congrats to Spirit as they have always been a tough team, and have certainly improved. Its nice to see the Coach taking them forward.
Ill second Sting being a great team was nice to play a team that we havent played. Congrats to Barnes, they were very competitive and played some great D, nice to see another LP team in the mix. DT Scott moves the ball around well and should be complimented on their play, great team. We have played them twice (Once when they were Doyle) 3-3 tie and a 1-1 that went to PK's, tough team. And congrats to all the teams as it was a crazy weekend with the weather etc (Which we ALL had to deal with)

You think you had a crazy weekend with the weather? I was sleeping inside a tent at the Speedway for my son's Cub Scout camporee... I really thought the end was near around 2 AM Sunday morning as the strongest wind I have ever felt nearly lifted our tent off the ground... with my entire family inside! Ah, the things we do for our kids...

That's no joke... my wife laughed at me when she saw me loading those giant green lawn stakes (used to keep trees from blowing over) and my heavy duty straps... I had that tent secured so tightly I'm pretty sure a tornado would have had a hard time picking it up... but, yeah, I can't lie... I was still whimpering a bit and whispering for my Mom when it got super intense... good times!

Re: GLASA Xara U9 Team List
At least the weather was pleasant for the final. I just wish the breeze would have shown up just prior to your second goal from almost midfield. What a shot!
The competitive 04 age group as a whole has a good supply of quality teams. Each game we have played is tough.
Looks as though Primetime will have a good competitive tourney next weekend. Good luck to all. May the weather gods be good to us.

Its nice to have the competitiveness and rivalries and at the end of the end of the day we should work together to get our kids the best competition. (meaning play same tourneys leagues etc when possible)
Can you clarify this? at the end of the end of the day what exactly is that... 11:30PM? sorry that made me laugh!
