'04 Girls FBR Rankings - 02-06-13
Teams listed in this current rankings have either played in an NTX tournament since Jan. 1 2013, or I have found to be registered in an NTX academy league for Spring 2013. I do not have information yet on what teams are registerd to play in PAL, EAL, DIAL, UAL, or PSA, so a team that is playing in one of those leagues may not be listed in this week's rankings. I will add those teams back into the rankings once schedule information is posted for those leagues.

Yes the two LP teams are strong. We had a good game vs LP Daglish in a fall tournament.

Normally, I do include that information in the rankings post, but I decided not to include it this time for a couple of reasons:
1) There are several teams that have been removed from the ranking list since I last published back in December. Some of those teams are no longer in existence and should be removed from the list, but some of those teams are teams that I just haven't been able to confirm if they are still together. They haven't played any Jan/Feb tournaments and I haven't been able to confirm if they are signed up for a league this Spring. That skews a bunch of the +/- #'s, especially below ~20-25 in the list.
2) Since the last posting, I have not only added results from about 5 or 6 different tournaments, I've also deleted 5 weeks worth of fall league/Labor Day tournament results from late August-Sept. In a normal week during mid-season I typically get 2-3 posts/PM's about a team that didn't move "appropriately" based their performance from the previous week. 99% of the time, the behavior is explained by an old result dropping from the history and how that result balances against the newest result. If I post +/- for these rankings from the last one's posted in December, I'll probably get 5 times as many "?!?!?" posts/PM's. Honestly, just don't have time to deal with answering all of those questions right now.
I probably won't add the +/- changes back into the post until all of the remaining leagues (EAL, PAL, DIAL, UAL, PSA) post their initial schedules and I can get all of the correct teams added back into the rankings. Likely 2 weeks from now.

Thanks for the clarification. Now I must clarify something....I have been informed that actually, Dewitt did not use the 3 DT players, 2 Sting players and the 1 LA player as guest players!!!! These players have actually been out on "LOAN" to these teams. He has now chosen to recall them to the BIG club. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Maybe we can "guest" play on one of those teams since they now might have some openings. But only if it does not interfere with our committment with Juve, I mean FC DAllas, no, I mean Sting team!!!!! lololol

Don't get too twisted about these...its all based on the data available.TatonkaBurger wrote:Just curious why some teams have records that appear to show last season's league results and others only have like 3 games - maybe from a tournament - but no Fall league results? Again, I love these rankings but just trying to understand how they work.
It is not uncommon for a team lower on the list to beat a team significantly higher. But the reason the team is ranked so low is due to lack of "exposure" or more accurately, data. In programming, we call it the GIGO principle - Garbage In = Garbage Out.
These rankings are fun, and are relatively accurate if you take it in larger chunks.
With teams folding/moving/adding players/losing players/etc. at the rate they are in academy, it is highly unlikely the historical will match the current. That being said, if your team is in the upper 40s, and you happen to beat a team in the lower 20s, it doesn't mean that you should jump 20 spots because of one game. Your team may be quite good, and have a legitimate claim to being top 20, but until your performance data gets added into the equation, you are in the 40s.
Just play the games, do your best, and don't let the rankings get you down...or coversely, don't let these rankings give you a big head, or you will be caught off guard by an underexposed team.

South will likley get overtaken in the FBR rankings for two reasons:
A) Playing Gold SDL will lower their strength of schedule stat for FBR
B) Playing PTCL U10 games will not count in the U9 rankings
So even if DTS goes undefeated for all Spring, they will likely drop a couple of spots in FBR.
