Re: Dallas International Girls Cup
1) Well done SRSA! Congrats!!
2) Glad to see an all Texas finals. Was not impressed w/U13 Chicago teams at all.
3) LP Pulp, well done! Thanks for representing 00's very well in U14 division. For years the 00 division has taken a lot of criticism as not being as strong of an age group. The group may not be the strongest, but certainly not as bad as perceptions.

If they were willing to sponsor the winners for one of these trips (a la Manchester United Cup), then that would be a different story entirely. Would certainly make the tournament a much bigger draw as well.

The winning teams received a $10,000 "travel voucher" as a contribution should they decide to enter one or both of the tournaments.

-There's a WHOLE LOTTA LP LOVE going out this week...
-Chicago folk were a irritable bunch.
-Canadian, Australian, Swedish Folk were great (at least the ones I met).
-Ross Stewart Complex:
--The fields were absolutely great; tournament well run-- games on schedule, etc. Hat off to Tx staff.
--Was anyone else thinking, "how in the heck am I going to get out of this place if a tornado, thunderstorm, etc drops down?"
--Field #5 had the most comfortable bleachers I ever sat in...stretch your legs out; accidently tripped my dd on her way by once...
-Sting had one win in tournament... total.
-Did anyone look at the brackets and say, "I wonder who is hosting the tournament...?"

Incredible more wasn't made of this by the tournament.
I wonder if SoR or DTR '01 are seriously considering going to either.

It was mentioned by a TD at the award ceremony after the finals that the voucher being offered was in the amount of 10,000 dollars, and he also mentioned the cost for a team to go was about 60,000 dollars. Estimate 3,000 dollars per player with a roster of 16

Continued Random 00 DIGC observations :
- U13 Division - 3 out of the 4 semi-finalist and eventual tournament winner came from Bracket C
- Cox fields were also in excellent shape
- OSU '99G from Canada was the best foreign team by far
- Feet - Shaw had a strong tournament using 5 guest players playing big roles. Looks like this could be D'Feeters ECNL team for next year
- Both Stings, Texans, and SR played without guest players
- FCD only ECNL club not to participate in U13 Division
- Only 1 win out of 7 games from the two Chicago Teams
- Tournament overall our girls from North Texas had a great showing
Championship Table:
- NT had 8 of the 12 finalist
- NT had 4 of the 6 eventual champions
- Solar teams won 2 and D'Feeters / Texans 1 each

I had heard 4 guest players; 2 of which were goalies that rotated out by half.

I would think if you invited players to guest with you, it's probably polite to allow them to actually play in the games... which would entail some of the rostered players to sit out at some point... right?

I hope that the coach assured their current keeper of their status good or bad else this would concern me more than the field players.

Obviously, KeeperX2, you have information (a roster or a team familiarity) that I'm not privy too. From what I saw, the last match had 18 players (11 on the pitch, 7 subs) and was told that 4 guest players were participating. It appeared that all of the players were rotated and received significant playing time. The vibe I got was that evaluating their player(s) and combinations was their primary focus of the tournament. HOWEVER, I DID NOTICE that a blond AND a dark headed girl with pony tails received significantly more playing time than the others!

I don't really know or care, but it is starting to sound like academy and the "guess players" inherent in that system. BTW-from my memory, if you question another team's motives for including multiple guests, you tend to get crucified...just sayin'
