The work rate for both of these teams was really outstanding.

I hate to be a critic, but these are not "D3: Pick Top 5" predictions! The weatherman calls for sunshine, unless it rains...thanks that was helpful channel 5... There are no hedging your bets in predicting U13 soccer! You have to believe...You can't be scared, the worst that can happen is that you may be ridiculed merceslessly in front of your peers, so get those crystal balls out (pun intended) and call the shot... Besides, if there are "injuries or other unforeseen changes with regard to health, roster, or school function or faulty alarm clock", we can figure that into our calculated, long term predictions next week... Remember, there is no crying in soccer... unless, of course, your daughter's team loses a game, gets hit in the face with the ball on a cold day, or doesn't play for Bruno, which is TOTALLY ACCEPTABLE.
MidDad: While I recognize (and enjoyed) the the need for the Legal Disclaimer, you didn't even settle on a top 5; can't have 6 teams in 5 spots moving up. You may have to extrapolate the tie breaker to calculate your 5th spot...
InaB: At least MidDad had 5 spots, you had.."might agree" on the top 2 spots, without an order...there are not any wrong predictions, just wrong people!
Dad3: Lastly, you just put your money on the top spot. 1 out five. Incomplete.

Okay...I will go 1-10. Again only an opinion. I still think that anyone could beat anyone on a given day, but with the number of games remaining and the points tallied...
Feet-especially tough to knock them out of first now considering their lead...
SG-they will be tough to shake from #2 because of their points...(1 pt per game gets them to 35). Others would have to run table...against each other??
Sting F-squeaks over Meja, yes Meja...can certainly beat anyone, but need points...
Meja-Get rolling against remaining opponents winning some of those ties...
Mustangs-barely top Sting W for this placement...
Sting W-edged by a point at the end...could certainly make a run and finish as high as #3.
DTN-hot and cold, but put together some nice Ws in last 6...
Solar W-find the net some and scrape some pts together edging Flash...
Flash-I know little about this team, but the results so far look shaky...
Meja Galaxy-Fight hard until the end...

Re: D3: Pick Top 5
1-Feet: showing consistency by dispatching the Flash; their win over DT looks more impressive after DT took down SF
2-SG: They aren't going to lose gms, so someone is going to have to win and take 2nd from them. Showed seasoning & pride coming back to tie gm last night.
3-Mustangs: Didn't play last night, but the Sting teams moved down.
4-Sting F- found out they have to bring A game every week! Their schedule about to get tougher- Solar W a huge gm this week- a loss or tie, they may take sting W place...
5-Meja- showing consistency, and sounds like they almost got the win over SG. A stumble by Sting F or Mustangs, they move to 3rd or 4th.
6-Sting W- Underdog claimed another casualty (nice job SW!). You heard it here 1st, those 2 bottom teams had a rough go in the fall, but have character, don't quit regardless of score. They will decide who doesn't make top 5.
DT- I can see them @ 5 if Sting W & F continue to stumble or Meja not close out wins. A loss to Feet is forgivable, but they have to keep beating the other top 5 teams to be one.
Hope everyone finished each game with their dd healthy and safe.

Re: D3: Pick Top 5
Feet and SG solidified the top 2. Not impossible to catch, but VERY difficult.
Mustangs (#3) tied Sting F (#5), and each have an extra game to play.
DTN jumped to #4 from #7 on a win Sunday (and the fact that they are a sizzling 4-1 in spring). They play SG and Mustangs in the next two weeks...can they take over #3??
Meja is #7, and here is some news...they lead the league in ties...with 8?!?
SWW is currently #6, but don't play any of the current top 4 for the rest of the season.
Oh, and I am bored...So, anyone want to revise picks...

Re: D3: Pick Top 5
Gogo: Making me work at work at it, lets pick em!
Win=3, Draw=1, Loss=0
Must'gs(21 pts): Solar G, Sting F, Flash, DTX, Meja U, Feet=29 pts
1. 0. 3. 1. 3. 0.
Sting F (19pts): Solar W, Sting W, Mustangs, Feet, Flash, Solar G= 32pts
3. 1. 3. 0. 3 3
Sting W(18pts): Sting F, DTX, Meja U, Meja N, Flash= 26 pts
1. 0. 3. 1 3
Meja N (17pts): DTX, Feet, Solar W, Sting W, Meja U= 24 pts
0. 0. 3 1. 3
DTX (17pts): Meja N, Sting W, Solar G, Mustang, Solar W= 27pts
3. 3. 0. 1. 3
Now, inaB, I don't actually believe these predictions, I am just declaring the favored team for predictive, entertainment purposes!
Translated...
Feet-SG: 1 or 2
#3: Sting F: 32 pts
#4: Mustangs: 29 pts
#5: DTX: 27 pts
#6: Sting W: 26 pts
#7: Meja N: 24 pts (after beating Meja United 8-nil)

Re: D3: Pick Top 5
These are the things that keep me awake at night, tossing and turning, wondering what the future holds for our 00s girls.
Yeah well, maybe not really but it still peaks my curiousity.

I think there will be a lot of dust settling before July 1.
I suggest warm milk with a dash of whiskey for the tossing and turning!

InaB wrote:Hi Mom, I expect that there will be a lot of movement come June and possibly teams crashing to earth. You know that as the ECNL teams complete their roster picks, there will be holes in teams whether they are sister teams or opposing teams. Now as to whether or not a team will lose enough players to ECNL (and other reasons) to cause them to fold will be hard to guess at this point. However, I think that we will see some teams fade away. But most assuredly, there will be DI, and DII teams looking to add players during June - more than usual.

I expect the same InaB, just seeing what the thoughts, opinions and possible scoops there were out there. Still a tad early but I bet in 6 weeks the threads will be blowing up with players looking for teams and teams looking for players (more so than in past years).
Thanks for the advice for my restless sleep! Milk upsets my stomach, I'll try just the dash of whiskey but just a dash!

This year's ECNL National Finals don't occur until July 10-15. The 2013-14 year won't start until some time after that.

But how do finals apply to this age group as they are going into year 1 of ECNL? I would think it would not factor but thats an assumption on my part.
Dad -Per NTSSA, competitive players cannot sign a contract prior to July 1. I read no exceptive to ECNL teams per NTSSA.

Initial Roster Submission Date; Roster Add Periods. An initial ECNL Roster with a
minimum of fifteen (15) ECNL Registered Players must be provided by each ECNL Team
by August 15 of each ECNL Season. Additional players may be added to the ECNL Roster
of each ECNL Team as provided in the attached

Okay, so since the ECNL rosters aren't "set" until August, but the LH teams will sign before that, there will have to be some "we are expecting to/been promised to be on XXX's ECNL, so we aren't signing..." issues.
The LH team can't hold a spot until August to find out that a kiddo isn't coming, and the girls can't wait on a, "We will wait another month, then let you know whether or not you made the team."
It would be disastrous to be in the last "cut" from an ECNL team and then go to a LH team that is 1) no longer around, 2) FULL or 3) adding you (and another??) late which adds X number of girls to a roster (which would push one of the paying customers who signed July 1 down the ladder)...I am pretty sure that if that girl was going to be our 17/18th player, and the contracts and money were divided into everyone's "share" that I would be a little frustrated both as a parent who now is carving up playing time or as a player who dedicated herself to the team only to find out that your bench time is increased...which would have been a consideration when signing the contract.
I think I already know the answer, but it was glossed over in the responses I saw. Can an experienced participant let us in?

Anyone still "trying out" for an ECNL in June-July, without at least a commitment from the development squad, would seem to be doing so at their DD's peril. I've heard horror stories of DD's being strung along in the past, but is that still happening @ this age now with regularity? Surely not among the upper level and ECNL coaches.
