Re: Playoff brackets?
They may start filling in some blanks on Monday, but it won't be completed until Wednesday, as there are some districts (such as 11-5A and 12-5A) that have regular season games on Tuesday.

Re: Playoff brackets?
4A playoffs start this week with most games to be Tuesday night. What will be interesting is the next set of games since Friday is Good Friday and no school. Will teams have to turn around and play on Thursday or will schools agree to Friday games.
To make things interesting Dallas Girls International Cup is this week starting Wednesday games.

Re: Playoff brackets?
Knowing a little about the teams in Region 1, I'd say that whole bracket will be a real fight. Region 2 is interesting because state ranking #1 and #2 are both in it ... if they make it that far, that should be a good game.
Region 1:
4 Marcus
5 Coppell
8 Southlake
9 Hebron
14 Grapevine
17 Keller
Region 2
1 Westlake
2 Plano West
6 Woodlands
7 McBoyd
15 Kingwood
16 Cedar Ridge
18 McKinney
Region 3
10 Deerpark
Region 4
Nobody

There are no overall seeds. If you look at the brackets, it is separated into 4 regions. The district standings in each region is the seed.
Plano West should be favored again. I really don't think they lost much to graduation last year and they did win it all last time. Westlake is ranked number 1 with no losses but I really don't know much about their competition. Region 2 should be interesting with those two teams in it.
Whomever comes out of Region 1 or 2 should win it just like almost every year.

Re: Playoff brackets?
I think there are probably 6 teams that are real contenders this year: Marcus, Coppell, Southlake, Westlake, Plano West, and Woodlands.
I discount McBoyd because we beat them handily twice. I would put Hebron in the mix if they could convince their "manager" to play.
Whatever the case, you've got to be lucky to win through ... I've seen too many completely dominant teams shoot 30 times and not get one in, and too many terrible teams blast one from 30 yards out.
The above teams are all very good ... we'll see which one gets lucky.

Agreed. Both teams have gotten siginificanly better since their early-season meeting (which I think GV won 2-0).
Both teams are much too good to have this tough a 1st round matchup. Unfortunate.

1-1 final. Grapevine wins in PK's 3-2. Must have been fun to see.

I wish we could have convinced El Paso Franklin to play at your place! Instead, our girls will be playing at noon on Friday in Midland. Gotta love those convenient locations. At least the booster club stepped up and got us a charter bus.

It is kind of like the NFL traveling to London for an exibition game.
An intresting matchup in round 3 is Humble Kingwood vs Austin Westlake Westlake skipped NEPS and had a relativly easy draw in Georgetown this maybe Westlakes first real test?
