Re: Team Connection Suggestions
We have several opportunitites coming up to guest play. Players can also come out to keeper academy at the Ft. Worth Facility. We want to fill the keeper spot soon. We also have a couple of openings for field players as well. Practices Mon/Wed 6:00-7:30. This team is a great team to be a part of! It's been together for 5 years. Very competitive team, but also an awesome environment! Call Coach Chad for tourney & team (817)253-9675.

Simple answer is that it won't be, as long as you approach it with the proper expectations.
There will be plenty of teams that will have open roster spots after July 1st. Some will be in need of finding players just so that they can get their roster to minimum size, some will be intentionally leaving 1 or 2 roster spots open so that they can bring on the "right" player if the situation presents itself.
Obviously, the sooner you can get to DFW and have your DD attend practices, guest play in tournaments, etc., the better off you will be, but even if you don't get here until after July 1st, you will have options.
Will you be able to find the "best fit" for you DD in such a short period of time? Chances are somewhat low. However, if you follow this forum at all, you will see there are myriad examples of people who are lifelong residents of NTX with DD's that spent 3 or 4 years in the NTX academy system, that realize 3 months into select that they don't have the "best fit" for their DD and are scrambling to get a release.
Most likely, there will be more teams playing in the secondary select leagues (PPL, APL) that will have roster openings. However, even if your DD is a Lake Highlands D1 level studette, she will not be irreparably harmed if she has to play on a PPL or APL team for a year. Heck, there are many that would argue that as GK, playing in a lower division/league is actually better for her development at this age.
Approach it with the expectation of just finding a place for your DD to play for a year while your family gets settled and you can educate yourself better about the soccer landscape in NTX. I would even argue that it would be best for you to find a team that practices very close to your new home, if for no other reason than to remove the additional time/stress of having to get her to a far-away practice twice/week while your family is having to settle into a new home/routine.
If it doesn't turn out to be "perfect", simply move on next June. Who knows though, you may even get lucky and find a team right off the bat that is a great fit, that your DD ends up playing with for years to come, and develops great friendships and memories.
Best of luck, and try not to stress too much about it. Just a small blip on a l-o-n-g journey.

If your dd has not had any experience with 11v11, the plano or arlington leagues might be a better fit for you, for now. Lucky for you, goalies are a rare gem:) You really should have no problem finding a team.
