Re: New Approach
A great test of character is how a person reacts when things do not go their way, not how they react when things are always working out perfectly.

Re: New Approach
When I was coaching, (and I still remind my DD every opportunity as it presents itself) one of my precepts for teaching and developing players was "We Fail Our Way to Success" Meaning every time a player tries something new and maybe they do it "wrong" or make a mistake, each time is a step closer to getting it right. Thus it helps a player actually get over the fear of making a mistake and gets them willing to try stuff (foot skills, types of passes, kicks, etc.) rather than just settling within their comfort zone. We learn from our mistakes.imabee wrote:Growth and development into productive adults should always include opportunities to fail. Without failure how do we figure out new and successful ways to achieve success? Sometimes you have to FAIL in order to SUCCEED. If we never put our kids in these situations, how are they going to learn to overcome adversity? My job as a parent is to put my kids in situations that will challenge them and help them grow. If that means they fail, so be it.
