Players moving and asking for releases

A source tell me a hand full of DD's have jumped ship or have asked for releases from some top D1 teams. Shocked to hear Higgy lost a hand full of players. Is this true? Also heard Feet lost a hand full of players and another source tells me some of Higgy players made an appearance at DT South soft ball fiels for practice. not even June yet and it's gotten very interesting to see who leaves who and who goes where!!

True, True, True and Cmon Man True. I have been waiting for someone to break the silence since the end of State Cup.

Happens EVERY year. Most of the D1 players leaving their current teams will simply shuffle to other D1 rosters. A few (usually end of the roster players) will move down to get more playing time, and a few up-and-comers will look to jump up to D1 teams. For the '01 D1/D2 teams, the average roster turnover from U12 to U13 was about 5 players.

It will be interesting to see how many bench players on top 5 teams look to drop teams. How many will stay put just to be highly ranked and how many go fight for more play time and a more defined role on another side.

I've heard of girls already being offered "starting" positions on other teams . Ummm? Isn't that against the rules? My understanding is no coach can offer a player under contract with another club anything until July 1. Isn't it entisment/recruiting???? It isn't June even.

Nope.

This is nothing new. It's been going on forever. Nobody gonna enforce anything. Heck the boys side is much much worse.

We've been told there will be spots, she'd be a great fit. I get that. We've also been told "she'd be a starter on my team". But I think actually saying "If you will come to my team, She has the starting position." is wrong.

Oh well. Such is life in NTX Soccer. Just another chapter in the made for TV movie I am currently penning. This forum gives me more material than I could ever dream up. I've developed this with two close friends. One friend and I brainstorm on the "secret lives of NTX coaches" angle and the other friend and I collaborate on the "select soccer moms of NTX" angle. You know who you are....

Heard about 5 team 12 player trade between Feet, DT, Sting, Solar and FCD. Waiting on LHGCL approval.

dont forget some of these players have a "No trade clause in their contract"

There really should be a league draft every year - would provide hours of entertainment.

Coach can protect 8 players - remainder go into the draft pool along with any not under contract in prior season. For U11, a coach may sign 8 by July 1st. Remaining players drafted July 15. Under after players may be freely signed after draft is complete.

It's crazy. We lost 3 players after the season ended but now, all of a sudden, up to 20 girls are showing up for practice and try outs. I think the next few weeks will probably get worse.

20 players who've already been released? Seems like a bunch before June 1. There must be free cupcakes involved.
