I think in the 03's there were teams ranked in the Top 5 that are now barely in the Top 20. Hold onto your top players and hope for the best.

Re: If '04's where to start Pre-QT ....
Fever doesn't exist as far as I know? 8 players went to two different LP teams.
Solar Gold doesn't exist.
You've got Chacon and Piper in the same group (merged).
LP Hansen doesn't exist.
Solar Crushers doesn't exist.

Wait...what? Chacon and Piper merged?
EDIT: Never mind. SoccerMom told me he left a while ago. Team wasn't merged though. Tom Boyles, a coach recruited from Da FC Dallas East by Gray took over the team.

I can't confirm either way, I'm only basing what I wrote off of multiple people saying they've merged and how they can't wait to see the new look team. So, that's all I've got to contribute. Someone else can probably clarify.

A lot of rust on several of these teams in this tournament. You could tell a lot of teams not used to playing 11v11. Team my DD was playing with started out rusty playing behind most of the game against Juve in a 1-1 tie, but as the tournament went on, they got used to the 11v11 format with a 0-0 tie against DTS in a game where both teams provided a lot of pressure on offense. They would've went on to play Sting had it not been rained out. It would've been interesting.

Re: If '04's where to start Pre-QT ....
You say your DD's team was rusty against Juventus, from what I saw I thought they did very well. Juve passes and attacks in a very coordinated manner, they can be difficult to defend against. I agree, I would have liked to have seen that matchup after you guys held DTS scoreless. Maybe another tournament.soccerdad1969 wrote:Good defense. Solid keepers. They currently are using two keepers. Both keepers looked good, but one is quite a bit taller than the other. I watched them play GSSC in a 1-0 shutout.

@11withak The 04 Kicks team will still remain with the Kicks Soccer Club. A great group of girls and parents decided to stay together as a team in the Kicks organization, and not make the move with the 05's to Sting. Coach Diaz is a great coach and has done a great job training this group of girls. We wish him and the 05's the best of luck.

Not trying to be ummm...I dont know....
but kudos first off on holding DTS scoreless. But from reliable source...very reliable...DTS was a patchwork team without 5 starters including goalkeeper due to vacation and illness. But just consider it...
I heard yall did play very smart defense keeping DTS doing more arm work on throw in's than leg work.

Not sure about your source...as far as the "arm work" comment. Not true. Just as simple as that. The girls held them well and did not kick the ball out as you have suggested. It was a very even game. They may have been missing a few players. I think the 5 key players missing is a bit of a stretch. We were missing a few ourselves. As for DTS only having one sub, we may have had 3 girls but only one subbed in that game. So we had no advantage there either. And lastly, DTS had no trouble scoring on LP (10) and Juventus (3). It seems it was possible for them to score. If you want to short-change a defense that held up to DTS that is fine. If you want to knock them for playing cheap against them...well, we didn't. We had a girl who had their lead forward locked out. She just couldn't get a break. They went at each other toe to toe. As for the other two forwards, they were held well too. It was our second 11v11 game, not too bad if you ask me. Not trying to stir the pot here, just feel our girls worked hard and deserve the credit.

OK. I didn't wanna get into details...and I won't....not pot stirring either. Tell ya later. Oh and the sub issue pointed out was in reference to the roster shortage not the stamina. And playing smart defense isnt a snub either to your girls. Again...time will tell.

I probably shouldn't take the bait but I will. Not sure what you are trying to imply Decoy. There are several that are capable of going to a bigger club. No one interested in doing that at this point...at least as far as I know. All of our girls seem to enjoy playing together and work hard for one another and their coaches. I like that you guys are keeping tabs though. Don't be surprised to continue to see us on the radar. We are a solid little team.

We will be playing in TGPL. Went undefeated in APL. I know that isn't a big deal but everyone has to start somewhere. I am not saying there isn't work to be done. Our girls are still into multiple sports. Our commitment level isn't where it should be to hang in the top tier...yet.

For my own clarification, was your DD playing with her regular team or guesting?
