MEX vs PAN

Oh that Panama Goalkeeper is incredible. Holy Cow those were some great saves.

Oh and Mexico looks like crap. Can you say kickball with acting.

Was great to be there at the game... the tension was palpable after Panama went ahead. Honestly I could not believe Panama got out of there with the win the way they fell back to defend. Felt like they were giving Mexico way too many opportunities to score and got away lucky.
Although Panama did miss at least two, probably three huge goal scoring chances... should have put them in.

Agree that the Panamanian keeper came up absolutely huge a few times...

Noise volume and excitement level had to be 10 times louder than any Cowboy game, maybe more. Maybe that's saying something about the Cowboys of late, but that had to be one of the most electric sporting events I've been to in a long while.

Oh to see a game in one of the historic venues, Anfield, Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge.

And....did you see some of the members of the SRSA 03 team out there with the teams when they were introduced? Somebody's got some sweet connections ;-)

The kids were great... looked like the same bunch with both matches, but I couldn't be sure. There were a few really dinky kids that barely came up to Donovan's knees. The best was when they panned the players during the anthems. The girls were very conscious of the camera in their face, so many were laughing a bit and making some faces. Big props to the blond girl that threw a wink at the camera before the Mexico Panama match.... I loved that.

I also really liked the idea of the team captain walking with the CONCACAF head and introducing him to each player... kinda cool.

It had to be very cool for the kids.

During the game (Mex v Pan) I thought to myself, gee the players seem to be slipping a bit. Did anyone else notice that?

I then saw this thread and it kinda supported my assessment.

They watered the dickens out of parts of the turf before the matches and again at halftime... We were joking that the US needed to tell the guys not to water their attacking end in the second half so all those long balls they were throwing up wouldn't skip off the end of the field....

but yeah, they watered the field at all the breaks... and coincidentally the areas the Panamanians kept slipping were right where they watered the most. ( they would stand there with their hoses about the corner of the 18 box and turn in a circle spraying.

What a great time for the kids - they had a GREAT time. I was a chaperone and got to see everything they did and would recommend that if this opportunity ever comes up take full advantage of it. Was really awesome to see the awe in all the kids eyes.

Thats what I loved about it... the looks on the kid's faces were priceless... and it was cool to see them shaking hands with the CONCACAF guy and the players...

Plus, they could get a close up look at Beckerman's hair.... that had to be an experience in itself.

By the way, did everyone catch that great moment when the ref pulled out the "vanishing spray" and it went off three players faces?... that was kind of funny.... That ref got hit with the ball 3 or 4 times during the match... almost gave Mexico a goal too when he got hit by a Panama clearance ball and it landed right at Mexico's feet just outside the 18

What was that white spray he was using. Never seen them mark the free kick spot and then the line for the wall. Do they do that anywhere else?

I've seen them do it in S American leagues but not in major European leagues.

its starting to pick up steam in the various competitions... I think it was first used in South America, and has slowly made its way into acceptance in various tournaments and leagues this side of the world. I think the MLS will begin using soon too, and I would imagine it will soon be used everywhere. They spray it down and it looked like it had all but dissolved after about 5 minutes.

seems like a good tool to me.

It is already used in mls.

Sending you a PM, I set up the player escorts and the center circle banner carriers through SUM (Soccer united Marketing) and FC Dallas.

The SRSA girls also did this for the U23 USA vs U23 Mexico match prior to the Olympics at FC Dallas Stadium. We were also on the field behind the goal for warmups for the USWNT vs New Zealand game also at FC Dallas Stadium.

Very special and memorable moments for these girls. Most were talking about it at the game this evening and still smiling. Have to remember that these are still U11 players, young ladies just like your DDs and enjoy the game on so many levels. Definitely would love to see your pics and share them with the parents.

My youngest (07) held hands with Beasley when the USA walked out, my 03 walked out with Besler. My nephew (06) held hands with Holden.

For the second game my youngest was with Mexico and the other 2 were with Panama.

Again, truly blessed to have this opportunity.
