Round 2 Predictions for 02's

I'm still holding to my initial predictions of LP Keegan, Dallas Rush (Stark), and FWFC.
Coin flip for the other spot.
Did anyone see LP Owens play? Their results were impressive.

Depending on how the brackets are set, LP Keegan, LP Owen and FWFC might not all be able to make it... if they end up in the same bracket.

So the top 2 in each make it in...
Prediction: (in no particular order)
LP Keegan & FWFC

I think the games in Y bracket are going to be very close games since during Round 1 none of those teams let more than 2 goals in the whole round.  In Bracket X, there were more goals allowed during the round, by most teams, except Keegan which had 0 goals allowed.

I would pick LP Keegan in Bracket X but not sure about the other 3 teams. I think the games will be very close, having seen most of these teams play. Think many of these could be ties or 1-0 games and don't see a huge difference between any of these teams. Good luck to everyone.

FWFC and LP Owen will be a good game!  Could go either way.  I am pretty familiar with both teams.  At their last meeting FWFC beat them pretty handily but the team that showed up to qualify is not the same team they played...either added some talent, team playing better or just pure determination and coaching..or all of the above!  FWFC will have to shut down their scorer up front and get through a really good defense and great keep.  FWFC plays overall well as a team.  offense, defense, middle all equal I think.  

While I am not a particular fan of Keegan's "style" they are certainly an athletic and strong team.  Scored on Rush Stark with a beautiful shot about 20+ yards out...which is typical for them.  One girl up top is particularly strong and aggressive...hard to stop her.  Defenders just have to play them very tight...can't give them any room to get a shot off.   I know QT can definitely mean ugly soccer and the game wasn't pretty.  I think the straight forward play style is hard for a kickball team like Rush Stark.  Both deserve to be LH so I hope however the brackets work out...they both make it.

FC Dallas Black is also a very good team.  Played faster and smarter than FWFC last Sunday which is why they won.  FWFC just didn't play well against them.  I expect FWFC to regroup and come ready to play this coming weekend though.

I applaud LFC Owen for their week 1 performance, but they just recently played two of the 8 teams left and it wasn't even close.  If FWFC is seeded in that bracket, Keegan and FWFC will probably coast into the league.  In the other bracket, assuming FWFC isn't seeded there, I see it as a three way race for two spots between LP, Rush and FCD.

Secondly, I do not believe you have a dog in this fight, so why are you scouting for other teams....unless you do!

I apologize if I offended you.  I meant it as a compliment to the player, she is definitely a scoring threat.  As far as scouting...not at all, just enjoying a great game between two teams I enjoy watching play and watching daughters of people I consider friends on both teams.  As to why the commentary, I know a lot of folks consider LP Keegan and Rush Nero Stark to be the two top teams for U12 QT.  I figured folks would be interested in the matchup.  If you knew me better you'd understand that I'm hard to shut up when it comes to soccer . But, I can assure you I had no ill intent.  

No, my dd's team didn't have to qualify again but we were hanging out and watching for fun. Again, I certainly meant nothing negative towards either team.

Soccermom, I sure hope your post was in jest! Because those are absolutely absurd comments.  So just in case you were serious or someone out there is feeling the same let me give you a few reasons why your reasoning is ridiculous.
Those of us that love soccer and have made many friends thru the years, enjoy going to games of friends. I also enjoy going to games of older girls and perhaps teams that "I" consider to be at a little more advanced level than where my daughter is so I can see what she may need to work on, she also loves to watch all and any games she can see. Rec, select and mostly professional. Also when we have a bit of a break from soccer most of my family just misses being at the fields and being around one of the things we love to do most. I would imagine my reasons are the same or close to why Momma goes too.  I also appreciate and enjoy other people's opinions and comments about games and teams. What possibly would the forum be about if not for that? I guess we always have the "uniforms for sale" topic.  
Yes calling out an individual player is technically not cool on the forum , However i don't have a problem with complimenting a particular player, I think we need more of that!

I edited my original post to remove the girl's number.    Also, just to clarify...while LP does plays more of a straight forward style...I prefer more Barca style, I meant that the soccer in this game was ugly...by both teams. But I think that is normal for high stress QT games. I am a fan of both teams.

I'm not offended by soccermom's post.  Quite witty actually.  I know this is a intense and stressful time for parents, coaches and coaches' wives.  (Notice I didn't say players...if parents and coaches were smart...this is just another tournament to the girls at this age).

Well, 8 teams, 4 spots, everybody still mathmatically alive. Pretty crazy if you ask me. Don't think we're gonna see any coasting.

FCD Black was robbed of the goal they made due to an off sides call that wasn't. Congrats to LP!

Wow.  Nail biting until the end.  FWFC & LP Owen (major underdog win!).  Rush Nero & LP Dalglish.  

Too bad there weren't more spaces...several other teams could have made D3 and it would have been a very competitive division.  Should be a great year of soccer for all the teams in D3 next year.  Congrats.  A hard fought battle this weekend.

Congratulations to all the teams that played this weekend! The games looked close and everyone had a chance going into today. Good luck to the four teams moving on but to those that didn't make, hold your heads high because you are all deserving, in my opinion.
