If this happens, I want that number. Then I'm taking my DD and moving to Vegas. I wonder if there is a NvSoccer.net ?

They'll probably be the only LP team that breaks a sweat this weekend.
We'd be happy to switch brackets with your team to allow you the opportunity to make one of those other LP teams break a sweat.

I was kidding, but been there, done that. Now is y'all's chance to earn that respect you're longing for tho. I'd stay put if I were you.

Re: 04 Labor Day Tournament
If I was coaching, I would want to play the three hardest teams possible.
Think about it.
You get three games, regardless.
-If you advance, then that's fantastic. You would have proven that on that given day, your team was clicking
-If you don't advance but show well, then you could be secure in the thought that this was a great tourney and you played some of the best. You can hold your heads high. Remember, it is just a tourney and there is still league play to go.
-For those vindictive types, you can then go down the road of the other top teams bringing in "ringers". LOL!
The fear is, if your top team is EXPECTED to win the bracket and you get bumped by a fluke from a lower ranked team. This may make you look even worse, as people will rub the fact in that you lost to a "scrub" team.
People are always looking past the game that is right in front of them and worrying about winning something that may never come to pass.

Re: 04 Labor Day Tournament
When the brackets first came out, I was pretty vocal about being in such a difficult bracket, even though we've had good results against most of the other teams in the other brackets unlike our own where we've only won 1 out of 5 games.
But not being expected to win has its advantages. Playing 3 of the top teams will only prepare us for what really counts, league play. If the coach chooses, we can tweak things a bit without worrying about advancing and winning a medal that is probably unattainable anyway. We can see how it works against very motivated teams who do have a good chance of making the finals and adjust against the next team and if needed the following week in practice without having to experiment in league play when every possible win will be crucial for us to stay in D1.
Good luck to all the teams out there and here's hoping for all games to be competitive, even against the LP teams

I agree with what you are saying.
If you are expected to lose, then anything you do that is positive in a game is a win.
It's like us trying to box a professional heavyweight boxer (unless some of us are pro boxers). If we get in ONE good punch, then "WOOHOO!"

I agree. I said I have no issue with the bracket that we're in. I do have issue with 1 team in particular's path to the Finals.(and I don't mean their bracket) But no one consulted me on the seeding so yes, we will play who's on our schedule. No big deal. Just as I suspect everyone else will.

Why would it be a shame if LP Premier wins? Same coach, but a different set of girls that actually won their quarterfinal game. Practice next week could be a little awkward if Premier has the trophy and the points if they win. Hope you and your crew don't have to go on suicide watch after this.
Congrats to D'Feeters!

I'm going LP premier for the win. Scotties are my sentimental favs and Defeeters are actually the team I thought had the best chance to take down elite (didn't think it would be this weekend)
