Ok, back to the original question, without mentioning XXXX. Top 5 anyone?

I would assume implement the best possible program they can for the players they have (for the day all the fun begins), while others are churning players through the turnstile to find the best possible available players on the market and yet others could care less about RASE and their successes or failures...  so I bet those coaches that are in contention for those ever beloved rankings are doing what they always do cause it's the program that they believe works for their players and the parents will continue to follow that coach and team because they've bought into that program...  My guess?  Most coaches, I do say most, not all, really aren't chasing RASE at all.  They're chasing wins and implementing the programs they believe in.  Does that sound like a fair assessment?

I would say its fair to a point.  Ask yourself the question; "How much more $$ are you will to throw out for mediocrity?"

So everyone but RASE is mediocre?  Funny statement...  

Maybe this can help you out to what I was referring to.

I watched games over this weekend (u10 girls and boys) and to no surprise, I saw few teams that could not make a three string pass connection before:

1.) the pass was stolen (could not maintain possession)
2.) the pass was kicked out of bound
3.) the pass was kicked to the opposite team

Makes you wonder what is your coach teaching. I know pressuring the ball, plays a big factor, but being able to maintain possession to get the pass off is crucial in soccer. Overall, I did a lot of head shaking..

This is not downing any kids. Just wondering what is being taught..

Mister Bates, do you have an 03 playing soccer right now? If not, then you're way too invested in childrens soccer - if so, than I challenge you to give me some verifiable evidence of this? And being behind the 03's progress from last year, does that mean that can't catch up? Curious what makes all the parents such experts on children's soccer on here - talk to some parents that have 97's and 98's - they'll tell you that the landscape of soccer will change drastically over the next few years so don't put to much stock in what or where you think a player or players should be at this point in their development. Players will be jumping around every Spring and once ECNL becomes a factor the landscape will change again... Mediocrity is NOT everyone but RASE - mediocrity is the belief that your kid CAN'T get any better and homey don't play dat...

I worry about RASE leaving girls play. At least they keep the '04 forum humming along. Worried that the '04 forum might turn into any '02-'95 group without them  

Speaking of Super Sting, where are they playing labor day? Don't see them in Plano Labor day anywhere.

Oh sensitive one! Compare LFS/DTS/DT Scott/Dalglish/Spirit to DTS 03, FCD Gold or RASE 03. Not as good at the moment IMO. I have a BB playing soccer so I've seen a lot of games over the past few years so I do have a valid opinion. Your view?

Oh sensitive one! Compare LFS/DTS/DT Scott/Dalglish/Spirit to DTS 03, FCD Gold or RASE 03. Not as good at the moment IMO. I have a BB playing soccer so I've seen a lot of games over the past few years so I do have a valid opinion. Your view?

Yeah, yer probably right about the sensitivity thing - however, tell me the entire playing field of soccer isn't going to change enormously over the next 3-5 years for these 04's in, say, the top 10-15 teams - with constant player movement, turnover, turmoil, club issues, player issues, parent issues, coaching issues, coaching movement, etc. etc. etc. And with ECNL being just a few years away, my bet is that most teams will disperse into the four corners of the hemispheres of North Texas soccer - i.e. DT, Sting, D'Feeters, Solar, FC Dallas, etc. I am no soccer genius but have friends with kids that are playing Select and looking at ECNL and those that have moved on to the higher levels. They all say the same basic thing - don't even worry about what the landscape looks like now, just make sure your kid is getting the best possible program for YOUR (i.e. my DD) kid and do all you can to help them realize the work it takes to reach "their" goals and to position themselves for success when they get to be 12/13/14 years old. During the developmental years is when they get to find that maturity and after that they better have found it or they will likely be playing recreational soccer - not that there's anything wrong with that.

every team is trying to not only close the gap but also reach their unltimate potential. We are trying to extend the gap and not get complacent. 1 sure fire way that the gap gets closed is if the rase girls, coach start to believe they are the best and will always be that way because it is a right. Complacency kills and I am hoping they get a good kick in the but from the boys. I know my DD has no intentions of losing and she doesn't care if they are boys. So a good loss or few will really get her fired up

True, playing boys is a great test. The gap is what it's all about - always. Although its great for RASE to continue to play girls 04 teams. 04 girls is truly where its at now. Continuity is also a great life skill. But, at some point assuming you are great just doesn't make it so. Life tends to get in the way. But I guess it really doesn't matter ... with ECNL on the horizon ... change is in the air. I get it but, perhaps all the RASE posters should move to the boys forum. Enough about RASE.

 Sorry I meant to write you sooner.  Just keep working hard, doing skills and 3v3.  Maybe one day you can join RASE too.  If you try really hard maybe win a game or two.  Don't worry Coach Lee if fair if not even a little too easy.  I'm sure if you just show him you are sincire and really care he will accept you too.  But in the meantime just try to relax and just enjoy the ride.  Remeber youth soccer is really all just about you and the experience.  We can't all be great because it's just not that easy.  Here I left this video just for you

Thanks for the tips on how to join RASE, I really appreciate it.  Until I get that worked out would mind talking to some of the other parents on RASE and see if you can get me some pointers on how to get actual playing time on RASE?  Thanks in advance. SPB

Hey I get it. It can be tough watching others accomplish things and shine in the limelight. But you have to let it go. The jealousy is eating you alive. You try to insult me days later from a conversation you weren't in. You misfire insults at my daughter (the 2nd time). You sulk from the background watching at 3v3 events as she hangs out with friends. Maybe not living up to your expectations is a disappointment for you but the trying to take it out on me won't make it better. It's not going to make your DD better. It won't make your team any better or relieve the disappoinment that you are stuck there. My dd is doing great were she is and playing just fine. She loves competition so anytime you want to bring your dd out to compete for a spot stop talking and bring it.

Yep a double stoop. And I feel dirty just from stooping to SBP's level. I usually just let the personal attacks go but this is the second time he has called out my DD and obviously without having the stones to identify his team or dd.
