Solar - probably
FCD - Doubt it. I don't think anyone over there (a. has a clue when it comes to the girls side of things, or (b. don't care enough about the girls side.
My bet would be on b.

Feet, There wasn't enough depth in the original 99 team. DP lost 15 of 16 players, so there wasn't a chemistry that she would have thrived in. Solar Bones had to replace DP's team in it's entirety.bwgophers wrote:So then... let's ask this question and see what the masses say...4-3-3 wrote:For sure the club or coaches cant take all the credit, or even most the credit, but to say they are non-factors is overstating it quite a bit.dfeetersarethebomb wrote:
At the level we are talking about - the club is virtually a nonfactor. There are plenty of examples of people from smaller states or clubs that advance through the chain- as mentioned, more of a genetic and internal drive thing.
Lebron probably could have been found on a playground and he'd be as good as he is now.
MH is a physically dominant player...like a full grown woman playing with girls. Texans could've left her at age so they could win hardware instead of allowing her the challenge of playing up.
When chi came through folks recognized her talent and genetic pedigree, but feet still got their share of the credit....rightfully so IMO.
If MH had been with the following clubs since U10/U11, instead of Texans, would she be in the same spot she is today? If your answer to any of these is NO, elaborate why you think so...
D'Feeters
FC Dallas
Solar
Sting
Are there any other non-ECNL NTX clubs that would have gotten her to same place?
FC Dallas, That is a tough one. She is phenomenal, but doubt they would have scored 104. I would guess they could have improved the 27 goals scored to around 50.
Solar, While SR come in 3rd place, I would say this would have made SR the grand champion.
Sting, Same as solar. Taking the big player away from the Texans would have left the door open for either SR or Sting to be the dominate force.
So it isn't the club as it was the team in its totality. SR and Sting could have done the same thing with that strong of a talent. She would have struggled where she doesn't have the depth. She needed the depth to protect her from the triple teams marking her. The Texans were able to make teams pay for concentrating on only 1 out of 10 field players.

Feet - Potentially. 99's have been in state of flux from the start but having her may have fixed that much like Chi did for 93's. Skip would have been good on 1v1 and shooting development early on but not much else.bwgophers wrote:So then... let's ask this question and see what the masses say...4-3-3 wrote:For sure the club or coaches cant take all the credit, or even most the credit, but to say they are non-factors is overstating it quite a bit.dfeetersarethebomb wrote:

FCD - No.
Solar - Yes. She may have developed an even more sophisticated game with Colvin, Stavrou, Solca influence
Sting - No. Flanny and Audrey would have inhibited development in early years. She would still be a force, but a much less complete player.

I don't think all of those players would have been there or been as strong if not for her. Her changing teams would have totally changed the 99 landscape.Noob wrote:Feet, There wasn't enough depth in the original 99 team. When you have that type of talent and drive, a coach is still important, but it becomes an issue of organizational structure, visibility, and connections. I think all of these clubs would have put good players around her and made her very visible on the national stage. Except for FCD. And I don't think any other non ECNL club would have worked out either. Not w/o her "guess" playing with one of the big boys at a national tourney.
