'04 Scores 9/28-9/29

I actually witnessed a LP Barnes couple (both a lady and gentleman) scold and escort an FCD Premier parent back to his appropriate sideline after his enthusiastic celebration on their end. It was quite interesting. Nothing violent, just goes to say....all parents have Passion and buttons no matter what the club.

I understand and appreciate the spirit of this and this is not directed at you, but I am curious just how to define "appropriate sideline". I am barely this side of being legally blind (insert ref joke here). Even with corrective lenses, I just can't see very well, especially across the distance of a field. If I want to see my DD score a goal as a forward, I really need to be down by the box - that may put me in close proximity of the opposing team's parents. But I'm going to cheer when she scores. Now maybe the distinction is the level of celebration, but simply getting upset at a parent "infiltrating" your area seems weird to me. Perhaps I'm just sensitive to this because I've been verbally assaulted for a simple "Nice goal, DD! Clap clap clap."

A tale of two halves, but Sting outplayed us so bad in "their" half and should have won the game. We were fortunate to come away with a draw in this one.

Caps are VERY effective. I find myself saying it LOUDLY to myself. Lol. Also, I agree totally Deuce. Stay in front of your team's bench or keep the celebration down if your are around the opposing teams's parents. I just makes sense and is ADULT thing to do!

The "Appropriate Sideline" is the 1 Across from your Team's Bench...

A Vision Related Circumstance Should ALLOW Certain Liberties, in Regards to "Invading" the Sideline of the Opposing Team's Parents...But You Hit the Nail on the Head, Noting the LEVEL of Celebration...

That's Really NOT a Good Time to "Wooo-Hooo", Sound Off Airhorns, Do Cartwheels or SCREAM your DD's Name @ the Top of your Lungs...A SUBDUED Celebration is Par for the Course, on the Opposing Team's Sideline...

It Probably SHOULDN'T Matter How, When & Where you Celebrate, but it OBVIOUSLY Does...After All, This is COMPETITIVE Soccer & EVERY Parent, Player, Coach Wants to WIN (Whether they'll Readily Admit it or Not)....

It Doesn't Get Much Worse than Getting $hit Kicked in a Game & Having Some Jack A$$ Dad Hootin' & Hollerin' on YOUR Portion of the Sideline, Everytime his Team Scores on You...

Walk to YOUR Side of the Friggin' Field, w/YOUR Fellow Team Parents & Party like it's 1999 or 3012, Whichever You Prefer...

I think there should be a class given to parents on sideline etiquette and you must complete the class in order to be allowed to watch your child play.  The only way you are allowed on the sidelines is with a visible lanyard that has your class completion ID visibly worn.  And this class should cover ALL sideline etiquette including and not limited to: screaming at your child while in play, screaming at the refs while your child is in play, screaming period, pacing the sideline of the opposing team's parents and screaming at your child, running over to the opposing teams sideline and making the "we're number one" gesture after a score, name calling, being a smart-a$$ to the opposing team or in their general vicinity, screaming at an opposing team's player while in play because they're playing harder than your child.  These are just some examples but I'm thinking it would keep the game what it is, a game.  The kids can still have fun and there's no worries about whether or not the parents were going to end up knocking each other out on the sidelines in front of a bunch of 9 and 10 year olds because the parents decided to act even more immature than their children.  Be spirited and cheer your kid and team on without being a dumb-a$$.
