Re: 05 Scores 11/2-11/3
Easy lesson here: if you really feel compelled to post a friendly score against a Platinum team within minutes of the final whistle, just use the double asterisk (**) next time.orbitzone2000 wrote:Crazy a scrimmage draws so much attention. Watched this game and I don't believe Reina even had a shot on goal the second half, can you confirm that Wolf or Joga? Sting also hit the cross bar on a pk in the first half. Wasn't as if Reina almost beat Sting as Anarchy would have most believe. Sting Dominated the ball & possession for most of the game. This game was a Drop game from the FCD Hunter team that left CFBAL high and dry. If Reina wanted to go platinum they could have. From what I saw from them, there not ready yet. Good move by the coach IMO. Nothing wrong with being proud of your team earning a tie against a top team. Sting Diaz should take this as a compliment.

Reina is a VERY good team. They are so talent laden it is scary. I've watched a good bunch of these young ladies grow in their soccer over the years. I'd say they are easily the best team over here on the West side by a fair amount (sorry Sting W...). On any day they can hang with (or beat) the best teams in NTX. Just my silly little opinion...

Thanks for the support! Good to hear from our neighbors in the West!logansdaddy wrote:Interesting thread. I am pretty sure that if my daughter's team tied the Kic...er... Sting Diaz I'd post about it as fast as I could too. It really is a compliment to Sting for sure. To do well against them in a real game like this, an alleged "scrimmage", or playing scrabble is worth lauding I'd say.

In all fairness, it was a scrimmage, but it was a scrimmage against a top team and not being beat was an accomplishment in my eyes. I would say Reina dominated the first half and Sting the second. I would also note neither team had more than 3 shots on goal total. This game was a battle in the midfield and neither defense gave up many goal scoring opportunities. And I know Diaz was missing two key players, so maybe with them there Reina loses. I thought it was a good clean, fun and pretty even match, but I am always a bit biased towards my Reina girls.

I would agree to disagree on you guys dominating the first half. I would say it was more back and forth the first half, but sting still had the better of the chances. In the second half sting had the ball the whole half and was playing more aggressive and therefore dominated the possession. Maybe this little scrimmage did Reina some good in the way of realizing the only way to be the best is to play against the best. Not that Sting is the best but they are Definitely one of the best in the age group.jogabonito wrote:Thanks for the support!
