ODP Sub Regional Event in Edmonds OK

Emails were sent out this week. Does anyone know what ODP age groups are participating? My DD is 01.

For summer 2014? If so at least in 02/03 world, that would be interesting to see as there have only been positional trainings so far, as the only session where they were going to be put into teams was canceled due to weather. Would they make that decision already based off just positional training?

I think this thread is referring to a sub-regional event on Dec 14-15 in OK- the 98s are participating. I don't know about other age groups.

OP is referring to December 13-14 friendlies in Oklahoma. 01, 00, 99, and 98's look to be participating.

Sorry for not specifying the date. It is December 13-15th. Thank you for clarifying. Hope to see some new competitions out there.

Have you heard if the 02 revived the invite also.

Yes, 02s are also playing.

Is their a certain amount of girls that get the invite or do all the girls that train go out to the Sub Regional.

One team for the older groups ,possibly two teams for the wee littles.

Tough weekend for a tournament for '98s as it is the weekend before final exams.

3-4 games on the schedule, but have played five in two days.

How long does it take to get the schedule of events emailed to you once you have registered?

Hotel information should be out on December 5th or 6th with a game schedule to follow shortly. (Just a guess)

My '03 didn't.

It seems pretty clear that for the 02/03 group, they have already setup where they think everyone stands coming into things. Even in the positional trainings, it seems with few changes, same groups of DD's together each session. For those with older ones already through this process, when do they formally let you know where you stand, and how often do DD's move up or down?

North Texas ODP in the Spring will hold a sub regional friendly tournament before leaving for camp, where individuals will be placed on a team that you will be going to camp with. Four teams will be formed, giving you an idea of where you rank amongst other players. I guess this is when we formally new where we were ranked.

They will be teamed up for the spring tourney and then depending on that some will move up or down heading into camp. After camp that is their base team and they can still move up depending on their play. Then after Oklahoma camp they have the next year to get on the top two teams so they can go to regional camp in Alabama. In a nutshell, great training no matter what team but your kid needs to get on the top two teams to get exposure and grow within that program.

This may be so, but from personal experience, I watched my DD (01), literally be moved from coach to coach over the past year to where we thought in the beginning she had barely made the ODP cut to being on what some thought was the top team in Oklahoma.  Also, during Oklahoma, we saw some girls move "up" teams.  No matter what team, the entire experience has been easily worth the time and investment.  From teaching my DD that hard work and dedication does have value, to learning about what it takes to be the best (teamwork, individual skill, respect the game, respect and listen to the coaches), learning how to quickly adapt to new scenarios (teams/coaches), the conversations to and from ODP events have been golden and very different from our Select Experience.   It's a marathon not a sprint.  Wish ODP supplied the snacks!

They dont move up or down, they know who they want the rest are just payers...
