My DD is not part of this group and is even if she was is nothing wrong with that, I prefer my DD playing all the time with a lower level team than be part of a top level team and playing 5 or 6 min each half. The most of the times the one on the lower level team end up better player.

...and, just to go on the record, again...

FBR does not, nor was it ever intended to, give any insight into the style of play of a particular team, or give any insight as to which clubs/teams/coaches do a better job of "developing" players.

It is a statistically based representation of the relative "strength" or "competitiveness" of teams (i.e. which team is likely to win any time the DD's lace 'em up). That may be as a result of pure athletic superiority, it may be due to superior coaching of skills and/or tactics, it may be some combination of both. FBR will NOT give you any insight into that.

Also, I think that anyone that uses FBR ranking as a primary factor in deciding what team that their DD will play for is severely misguided, and will significantly increase the likelihood of being unhappy with their decision a few months down the road.

Use it as an initial filter to target some teams that you want to look at? Sure. Make a decision to join a team based in large part on their ranking and/or what league/division they are likely to be in come select? Bad move.

There is no doubt that some people use the rankings in the wrong way.  If you had started with that there probably would not have been such a commotion.  But you came out firing with, "With all respect to you I think this ranking is totally worthless and only creates a bad concept..."

I don't think the rankings are worthless as they do give a general idea of where a team currently is. This can help coaches, tourney directors, etc.., determine where their team should play in leagues and tournaments. If used right and not manipulated, it can also give a decent idea of if a team is regressing or progressing.

I don't think however that it should be used solely to determine where to send your DD to develop. I moved my DD to a more local team that was ranked higher on FBR where she started and played the whole game, but for whatever reason, she didn't develop as well even though they seemed to be a pretty well coached team. Moved her back, because IMO her developing as a player and person is most important.

I agree but what make you think that the information is accurate. I know for a fact about 1 team that finish second place in a tournament and the result was not included and I'm sure there will be a few more like that.

FBR does not give weight to any single event, but is a collection of games played against similar competition and their opponents over time.  

FBR is extremely accurate. In fact, for the past 2-3 years it has predicted within 87-90% accuracy how teams end up after LH qualifying tournament when they first go select.

Accurate in wins/losses and results, not development or actual quality of soccer. Good for tournament directors as previously mentioned as well.

I honestly was confused why the Irving Elite likes to dominate the Irving rec league until I saw this ranking. This was quite helpful to me as I am very new to all this.

Where would DTS05 be ranked in the 04 list?

They are removed from the final list since they aren't 04s. If gophers has enough time and interest he might provide an answer.
