Just remember to avoid the 3 L's (no lines, no laps, no lectures). Don't talk for more than 30 seconds at this age and keep them moving. One ball per child, ALWAYS! Keep practices fun! Use small sided games with neat names like "Sharks and Minnows", "Tag", etc.

That's always a good idea too. Getting USSF F, G, E coaching badges is a good route as well. They are not expensive nor time consuming and can only help your knowledge. Those licenses don't have any tests (The E does, but it's a take home test and not really necessary). The F and G are just a morning/afternoon class, so easy to make time for and geared for 6-8yo age groups, but since NTX implemented the U4 rec league, it still probably applies to them.

Oh, my bad. I didn't know that.
I thought the D was where you got assessed and tested.
