Obviously nothing high tech. Just looking for a little more advanced than basic. Thanks

We use SoccerU. 6 cd set from very basic up to professional lever. I think we are on 1st CD and works very well for my U4 and U6 DD.

Use a combination of the 5 DVDs in the SoccerU series as well as "Blast the Ball" that they offer. Coerver is also a good supplement for footskills. Use these sparingly because at this age, drills are not as effective as just simply learning how to dribble and getting used to the ball at their feet. Do not worry about kids being ball hogs at this age. Let them build confidence and footskills and not worry about having to get rid of the ball every time they touch it.

Just remember to avoid the 3 L's (no lines, no laps, no lectures). Don't talk for more than 30 seconds at this age and keep them moving. One ball per child, ALWAYS! Keep practices fun! Use small sided games with neat names like "Sharks and Minnows", "Tag", etc.

That's always a good idea too. Getting USSF F, G, E coaching badges is a good route as well. They are not expensive nor time consuming and can only help your knowledge. Those licenses don't have any tests (The E does, but it's a take home test and not really necessary). The F and G are just a morning/afternoon class, so easy to make time for and geared for 6-8yo age groups, but since NTX implemented the U4 rec league, it still probably applies to them.

There are no F or G badges anymore. Plus the E is now an assessment course where they test your coaching ability.

Oh, my bad. I didn't know that.

I thought the D was where you got assessed and tested.

recommend the following for excellent teaching techniques, inspiration, and motivation:

Kickin & Screaming
The Great Santini
Full Metal Jacket (especially the drill sergeant scenes, perfect for four year olds)
Tiki-taka
