Essentially there's still a very obvious gap between RASE and others, just like there is with SRSA in the 03's. Now just like SRSA in the 03's the scoring margin is starting to shrink against top teams (although it showed a little earlier right now for RASE) however quality of play, possession, and composure is still very noticeable.
I'm sure at some point over the next year RASE will probably trail in a game, just like SRSA did a few times in their first year of LH's. However like SRSA, RASE puts tremendous pressure on opposing defenses and even when the other teams decide to pack the box eventually someone doesn't recover or misses clearing a ball and RASE will capitalize.
It would have been nice to see RASE beat everyone 7-0 so maybe people would move on to something new but with the games ending 2-0 or 3-0 it makes folks think there's a chance and thus more RASE talk.
I can't wait to see everyone face off against each other in LH's. Should make for some very interesting games, heck I'm curious as to who is going enter the $eeding tournament.
I think this is just more mystique. How can anyone much less a non-04 parent know? Unlike the 03s, the 04s were NEVER able to get all top 10 teams in ONE league. They got close TWO years ago... But that means nothing at this age. SRSA played all of the top 5 teams MORE than once before QT leaving NO doubt. This is not the case with RASE and playing 04s girls was unintended this previous tournament so anything is speculation at best.
That's not true at all, I think SRSA played FCD Gold/Predator once in the 9 months prior to qualifying and I believe they played DTS once, and that was in a boys league because once the the Primetime fall league was over SRSA didn't play any girls leagues until LH's. So of the Top 5 I think they played two of the teams twice (maybe) in the 12 months leading up to LH's (DTS & FCD Predator/Gold). Honestly though most of the 03 teams this past year played SRSA straight up until the last few weeks of the season when you had teams like D'Feeters and others start stacking the box and only losing 2-0. So that's a team that was on the bubble to qualify for DII only losing to SRSA 2-0, just proves my point that the final score isn't really all the indicative of the level and quality of soccer the two teams play. The last four games SRSA played against the Top 03 teams I believe ended 2-1, 2-0, 1-0, and 3-2 even then though (no matter what their parents might think) those teams did so by selling out on defense and hoping for a long ball counter. Yes that is a style of soccer but lets be honest it's not what anyone really wants to see their DD's being taught but in games against superior teams sometimes that's your best and only chance.
I'm really looking forward to LH's this year, either someone will step up and beat them or a bunch of folks will stop posting as much. Either way it's fun for us outsiders to watch the circus.
You still prove my point. RASE has not played most of the top 5 in over 12 months including nearly 22 months for DTS.

Is that really a point that needs to be proved? That Rase hasnt played many in the Top 5 in the last 12 months? Heck as of today, I think SRSA has still only played some of the teams in the Top 5 something like 2 times in the past 24 months, so what does that matter? If anything I proved that you didn't really know what you were talking about when you made the claim that SRSA played all the Top 5 teams multiple times before qualifying. They did not and it wouldn't have mattered if they did. Quite honestly they were absent from the 03 girls for the better part of 12 to 18 months prior to going select, besides the one Primetime league they either played up in tournaments or played boys. You had some folks complaining wanting them play the 03's but for the most part they (unlike RASE) were/are silent on the boards so they didn't have any lightning rods for folks to engage. I'm sure if the good folks like Go99 didn't post on here (I'm glad he does because he keeps it interesting) then most everyone would just move on and you might occasionally get someone that posts that they'd like to see Team X play RASE. Just the way it goes.
I really don't fault teams like SRSA, RASE or some of the 02's that pretty much checked out of playing their own age group in the last year before select. Yes RASE checked out about 3 or 4 months prior to those other teams listed but does anyone honestly think it would have been in the least bit beneficial to them to play other girls teams?
Mustangs if you think that some of the other top teams like Spirit or DTS can play with them trust me we will all find out soon enough and I'm sure I'll be there to watch. Doesn't matter to me if RASE wins or loses (just like it doesn't matter to me if SRSA won or lost), I just like to watch good soccer and right now they still play the best in this age group. There are other teams that do as well but most of the good soccer right now breaks down when the other top teams play each other, what makes RASE different in my opinion is when they do play tough competition they are still able to play their style of soccer, it doesn't change. Most of you have some sort of skin in the game with these teams so I get why you get worked up and I'm sure when my DD was playing that I would have wanted her to play the best no matter what.
I will agree with you that there is a bit of a mystique about teams like RASE and SRSA because they dont/didnt play much against their own age group but on the flip side if they would have played in the Fall of last year and beat everyone handily like they did in the Spring of 13 I think there'd still be a mystique about them.

This can't be the place to have the same conversation and debate over 4,000 times.
Someone please start a thread regarding Spirit having txsoccer.net rankings on their website. At least it would be something new.

It has reached the realm of insanity now...
I don't even feel the same about the topic anymore...
