Need help in getting the season started?

As the beginning of your DD's first "Select" soccer season draws near, are you having trouble finding the right words to motivate her? I found this clip to be helpful...

That's the speech I give before practice.

For games I go with speaking in tongues, snake handling, levitation, eating glass washed down with a quart of motor oil, then I set myself on fire.

Nice touch! Hadn't thought of that one! I'll try to work that in somewhere closer to the beginning as an attention getter...you know, so she will know I'm serious this time!

Exactly, words are OK, but sometimes you gotta demonstrate the proper commitment level.

Usually this is how my DD gets motivated in our house prior to league play.  Instead of our DD playing for 'Michael' as in the video, she is coming to get back her 'IPad' or something like that:
