Re: Elephant in the room?
If So, this is Perhaps THE SORRIEST Act I've Ever Seen, from Sports Parents...1 Loss & 1 Tie WARRANTS a Coaching Change, All of a Sudden???...So the 7,000 CONSECUTIVE Wins LW Guided Rase to, Means NADA, Huh???...
Like Janet Jackson Said, "What have you Done for Me LATELY" ...
You Definitely Learn More about your Team After a LOSS, than a Win...Ditto for Team Parents, it Seems...
Never Met LW, but his Level of Coaching is OBVIOUS, Having Watched his Squads Over the Years...Dude DOESN'T Deserve This...No Doubt he Feels Betrayed...Everybody Wants their DD's Team to Win 'em All, but You Simply CANNOT Panic or Revolt, After Failing to Win a COUPLE Games...
If True, this is Both Funny AND Sad...

It's not true and you heard wrong. Elite now has the current DOC and LW was at todays game with the girls coaching, helping thru the transition

I can't speak for others, but I can say that I (an outsider) was surprised by the change. From my vantage point, it appeared LW had developed the strongest 04 girls team in the area (and one of the top nationally I would imagine). Why the change? Other than not dominating all 04 teams (i.e. a loss and tie over the past month), I can't imagine why LP would make the change unless parents (possibly some, not all) where upset over the loss and tie. What else would be the motivation to make the move after signing and early in the Lake Highlands season??
Again, I am a huge fan of Elite (at least how LW had developed them) - no intent to attack or defame the team. Just a very odd move, from a timing perspective, unless there were upset parents. Any insights would be helpful.
Best of luck to Elite the rest of the way. I am looking forward to the Premier vs Elite game. Given the recent changes, it could be epic!

go99 wrote:elite girls were there cheering on the premier girls today. Are ther upset parents? I am sure there are every team has some. But as far as I know nobody was upset about the tie or the loss. And as easily as you could blame the coach for those results you could also blame the girls, parents or god forbid the efforts of the other teams. So the idea that wins and losses steered the direction of the team can be put to rest because it isn't true.
Fair enough - still doesn't answer the question: Why the change?
Most clubs will make the changes directly before or after signing (e.g. they have their Academy coaches and their Select coaches, etc). The transition doesn't make sense - might have made more sense back in June or early July. As a 'financially funding' parent: if my DD's club did this, especially with her current coach, I would be livid unless they gave me a really, really solid reason. If parents and players were happy with the coach and a club did this at this time in the season, I imagine there would be some really upset parents and girls.
Again, I wish the best for Elite - just really surprised (as an outsider) at the move.

I guess the question everyone had is 'who felt it was time for a change'? Since LW is still coaching his other teams, it appears he is still in good standing with the club.
Anyway, I am not going to beat a dead horse - my guess is there is a lot more to this story than 'it is a great team for a great club, with a great coach, who felt it was time for a change'. Unfortunately I have been around politics enough to recognize centerline messaging.
Again best of luck to Elite and their new coach. Moreover, best of luck to LW, especially if he got pushed out or this was done against his wishes. I have to admit that I will now probably be pulling for Premier and LW as well when they play Elite.

Re: Elephant in the room?
Isn't LW a high school coach as well? I would imagine his time would be split once HS season begins and would not be able to have time for all of his teams.
