Yea, I know we have worn out the topic in the past but GotSoccer is just terrible, especially on Regional and National rankings. Being totally automated really screws things up.

Bracket B does look to be the most obvious for Texans to win it. Since Sting hasnt been playing well, Revolution or Solar Blue could give them some problems but I dont see Sting not making it out. Solar Red is going to be in for a interesting battle with FC Dallas. You never know what you might get with FC and they are coming off a win against Sting to end the season. That bracket is a tough one to call. Bracket D is another tough one. Solar is falling apart at the seams and Feet are looking to keep up the Spring pace but Feet have been snakebit in the past when it comes to State Cup.

Some good teams in A Bracket but I don't think any are capable of outpointing Sting. Over the years, I'd have to say that State Cup has been more cruel to Sting than any other deserving team . As a consensus favorite going into u14, I think they'd consider it a big disappointment to not win either GC or State Cup. They're a good team that will be gunning hard.

Texans from B. I'm sure the last game with Mustangs hasn't been forgotten and Texans should be pretty fired-up. I'm sure Solar Gold and FCD Blue would love to earn some respect and the games with Mustangs will probably be competitive. But, I just can't see any of 'em getting past a Texans team with something to prove.

C Bracket is tough enough to call when just looking at SR and FCD....but lets not forget how tough Tornado's played against SR last year. FCD had a very good Spring. Don't think FCD Black is quite ready for primetime. This one may go to who plays best against Tornados.

Bracket D. Not sure about Solar falling apart at the seams. Didn't they just beat Sting? Their last 4 outings seemed pretty solid to me. Despite their disappointing finish in the standings and the constant talk of team turmoil, that's not a team anyone should be too excited about playing. TRN has generally been solid but too many kids already have 1 leg out the door and may be just going through the motions at SC. I hope Sting Royal '96 isn't as tough as Sting Royal '97! Bracket winner should come down to Feet or Solar.

Mojo, not completly sure I understand what you mean about Feet being snakebit in State Cup...champs at u11, finalists at u12. Maybe you mean not advancing last year? Hey, generally we'll take no losses and no goals against...the scoring was just a little tough to come by. Not snakebit though...just not as effective as we needed to be against a tough bracket.

At this point, I don't think I could even call a favorite. Lots of teams with lots to prove. As always, this age group has many capable teams. Going back to u11, the wealth has been spread around pretty evenly.

State Cup: Feet, Solar Red, Texans
Grand Champs: FC Dallas, FC Dallas, Sting, Feet
In this group, complacency will kill ya...everybody has to stay sharp. I like it!

I am glad he didnt say Feet! We dont need the jinx factor!! I do agree that any of the teams could take it. It just depends on who shows up to play. There just cant be any mistakes in bracket play without quarter finals. One slip up, even not maxing out on points against a team that you should, could be a deciding factor.

It appears to me that if Sting, Solar or Feet wins SC, then Feet will get a ticket to regionals, based upon 3rd place finish in PL.

Texans, Solar Red or FC will have to win SC to get the invite.

It would be ironic if Feet knocks out both Solar and Sting, and then fails to win the SC Final.

Feet should win hands down!
To me they all should be in one group. You slip up one time and you get to watch all the rest. It would bring more value to State Cup Champions. Just my thought.

Besides, you undoubtedly just gave us the kiss of death. How about you proclaim Solar the winner, for starters? You can alway change gears after bracket play.
