FBR 07 Girls October 23
FBR 07 Girls October 23
Only games against 07s will count for rankings. Teams playing in leagues that do not publicly report scores will need to email FBR07G@mail.com to report their scores for consideration. The rankings have some "NOISE" and will not fully look clear until the end of the Fall Season.
Any team with a '*' by them is known to be made of a compliment of girls from another team that is ranked. I.E. Kicks and Kicks Blue, LP Gerrard, Owen, Red and RASE and the Sting East teams.
FBR07G is publishing these rankings and maintaining the data. The ranking methods, criteria, and formulas are all 100% the same as BWG's rankings in prior age groups. Tier groups are the only subjective area (following BWG guidelines on establishing initial tiers), tier groups will be published AFTER the fall season and tournaments. BWG has been kind enough to review the early data a couple times, including the initial rankings and share his methodologies to ensure as much an unbiased ranking system as possible for this up and coming age group.
Rankings
Tiers
Basically starting from scratch there is some subjectivity on establishing the initial tiers. More clarity will be seen after fall tournaments with more inter-league play based on wins/losses. As you can see in the table above the teams are placed accurately in their respective tiers based on the current data. Public posting of tiers will occur after the fall tournaments.
Per BW, the ranking Tiers in the FBR give greater weighting to games played against stronger opponents. Placement in the ranking tiers is based solely on actual game performance and is reviewed and adjusted where necessary on a frequent basis. The "general" rule governing tier placement is an "80/20" rule. A team should get a Win or Draw in >80% of their games against teams from a lower ranking tier, a Win or Draw in somewhere between 20-80% of their games against teams within their ranking tier, and a Win or Draw in <20% of their games against teams from a higher ranking tier. The net result is that you should get grouping of teams of relatively similar strength in each tier. A weighting factor is then assigned to each tier. From empirical experience with a full year's worth of data on the '01's at U10, we determined that reducing the weighting factor by 50% in each successive tier works the best overall.
