'05 Girls FBR Rankings - 11/30/2014
Notes:
1) Games from weekend of 8/9-8/10/14 were dropped from the history since the last rankings were posted. If a team didn't move the way that you expected based off of the results since the last rankings were posted, this is a likely reason why.
Current Inter-Tier Records

Re: '05 Girls FBR Rankings - 11/30/2014
The ranking criteria values are calculated for each team as described in sections II-V. For each criterion, the teams are listed and sorted from highest criteria total to lowest. The team with the highest total in a particular criterion is assigned 100 points. The ranking points for all other teams in that criteria are then calculated as a % of the top team’s total.
For example:
Team A has the highest total for Avg. WW = 50 WW/Game.
Team B has Avg. WW = 30 WW/Game
Team A gets 100 Ranking Points in the Avg WW category
Team B gets (30/50)*100 = 60 Ranking points in the Avg. WW category.
The ranking points for each criterion are then multiplied by the corresponding final ranking calculation weight for that criterion, and summed up to get a team's Total Ranking Points.
The above comes from my description of the FBR calculation that I have provided multiple times previously (PM me if you'd like me to send you the full explanation).
Ranking points in each of the 4 main categories in FBR are calculated RELATIVE to the top performing team in that category.
Prior to this week, Solar Pulp was leading in the Average Weighted Wins category, which is 40% of the overall ranking calculation. However, LP Hyypia overtook Solar Pulp in this category with their good weekend, and actually has a higher overall total in this category than Pulp had heading into the weekend. This is primarily due to LP Hyypia playing a larger % of their games against Tier 1 opponents (Tier 1 currently consists of LP Hyypia, Solar Pulp, Sting Diaz, and DT South), and having the best overall record in games between those 4 teams. (Hyypia has played 5 out of 13 games against Tier 1, going 2W-1L-2D vs. Pulp playing 4 out of 25 games against Tier 1, going 1W-1L-2D). So, as a result, pretty much everyone's AWW total dropped in relation to Hyypia's, and since they are now the top team in the AWW category, that causes just about everyone's total points to drop compared to last week.
Also note that LP Hyypia has the #1 Strength of Schedule, and their SoS also increased relative to most other teams since they played a stronger schedule this past weekend compared to their average schedule during fall league season. So, again, they gain on the majority of the teams in that category as well.

It's quite possible that I have a mistake. I'll send you a PM with what I have in their current history.

I also decided that this will be the final rankings published for the fall. The remaining tournaments have low participation, so I'm going to give myself a break for the holidays.
The December tourney results will be added in to FBR, I just won't publish an updated ranking until after the first weekend of tournaments in January.

Appreciate BW's hard work and effort. His FBR is usually dead on. Miss the FBR and the threads it creates. Keep up the good work.
