Premier SuperCopa Girls - U9

The most competitive 64 girls teams (U9-U12 age groups only) from across the nation are being invited into Dallas next June to participate in the 1st annual Premier SuperCopa G tournament June 12-14.

The creators of the popular Premier SuperCopa Boys tournament is expanding the event to include girls teams in 2015.  The 2014 boys tournament hosted 96 of the top boys teams representing 59 soccer clubs from 25 states and Mexico; including Hawaii, Florida, California, New York, Michigan, Indiana, Maryland, and several others.  Invitations to girls teams outside of the North Texas area are being sent by the selection committee now.  

The U90C Spring Kickoff tournament ( Feb 6-8 ) is the only qualifying tournament available for the SuperCopa Boys & Girls.  The Champion of this tournament in each age group will receive an invite to the SuperCopa.  Additional invitations to local teams will not be sent until after the qualifier.  To read more about this, click here

well, just the first five teams already committed will make this one hell of a tournament.

A few things come to mind.  Why is on 05 team (Barcelona Bay Area) playing in an 06 field?   And why aren't you reviewing & inviting any NTX teams?  Or perhaps you simply don't want to disclose? In short, only 2 NTX teams will play in a local tourney. California must have one hell of a FBR.

The other states call their teams 05/06 because they have players from both birth years. For those that only have 05 birth years on them they will call them 05s, but are "06" soccer year.

Nothing against CA teams, but for girls that are 18 months from select & w/o any official ranking system how do you know that CA deserves 4 of the 6 spots already listed? They are also listed 7 out the 27 possibles, but not one NTX team?

Just to be clear, i'm not knocking those listed or already invited. I'm only looking for clarification on how one determined our region is only worthy of 2 representatives.

Dallas cup has run the same for a llloooonnnggg time and they seem to be doing ok mi amigo.

Its the format they are after and have succeeded in doing on the boys side. Only thing missing on the boys side is the big international clubs.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here because its been accomplished on the boys side. U9, U10, U11, and U12.

Anyone that can get teams to travel nationally for the younger ages deserves that....

I'm simply asking how it was decided NTX deserves only 2 spots at U9. If CA was broke into regions & there are no more than 2 selected from each, i get it. But then why does TX only have 1 regional tourney?

Cali is broken into 2 sections. Cal south and cal north.

I expect in the end NTX will have 3-4 teams in it per age group. STX maybe 2.

We are. Texas North has it's own State Cup and Texas South has their state cup. Winners of that go to regionals

I'd hope so but the list of teams doesnt suggest that at all Borussia. Frisco.. you're comparing apples to oranges. We don't have a state cup at this age

The list of teams on the girls side is because its a first year tourney on the girls side and lots of doubt they can pull it off. Looks like they will be pulling it off and I expect next year it will be huge locally.

Same thing played out on the boys side as it grew the last 3 years.

How many qualifiers do the other states have for this tourney?

The tourney organizers seem to be on the right track to putting together a pretty impressive list of teams so far.
I will say that the one distinct difference between the boys and the girls, is that NTX is nationally recognized as a hotbed for girls soccer, especially at the younger age groups. So, only 2 slots allotted for NTX teams seem to be a little out of whack. I can't imagine Surf Cup, Legends Cup, Vegas( which is essentially a SoCal tourney anyway) would ever allot only 2 slots for SoCal teams in hopes of filling remaining slots from out-of-town.
I notice at least 3 of the top NTX teams aren't even signed up for the qualifier. Are all 3 counting on the automatic bid? Seems like there will be some quality NTX teams and players not participating in this one if the current list holds true. That would be somewhat of a shame, considering this tourney is in our backyard. Unless of course, Borussia's prediction of 3-4 NTX teams per age group holds true.

I know there are Cali teams that come to town with older teams and bring in guest NTX studs. Maybe the same can happen with the younger ones.

Good point Borussia. I did not consider that. Very real possibility.
Or perhaps some NTX teams will fly in some Cali studs.
