96-Interesting Stats for the year.
96-Interesting Stats for the year.
Going through these stats I find it interesting how much separation there is between Sting, Texans and Feet compared to the rest of the teams after removing the Spirit games. Spirit gave up a lot of goals and it kind of skewed the actual picture of just how strong the top teams are.
When looking at the overall standings without counting the Spirit games, you have to wonder what happened in the two Solar camps. I am not trying to bash anyone but when I first saw the results, I had to do a double take.
Any comments?

Re: 96-Interesting Stats for the year.
First thing that jumps out at me....incorrect spelling of D'Feeters. It's really not that hard. Feet is OK, D'Feeter's is OK. Thanks.
About the stats. It is interesting that you took Spirit out of the mix. I would have sort of ignored that each team got their wins vs. Spirit and moved on, but when backing out the goals, it really is more telling. Good insight. Several things jump out at me.
1) Sting had no follow through on their strong Fall. The actual stats when broken down surprise me.
2) Feet had their inexplicably good Spring. When looking at the stats, even better than I'd realized - compared to the group
3) Texans' record was most consistent in Fall/Spring. But their offensive performance in the Spring was waaaay off vs Fall (looking specifically at the stats without Spirit)
4) FC Dallas did convert some of those Fall ties into wins. GF/GA is not overly impressiveb but I guess their timing was right.
5) When removing SR's 13 goals vs Spirit they were fortunate to finish as high as they did.
6) The GF/GA for the teams in the Spring suggests lots of parity
7) Despite the parity in the GF/GA in the Spring, the overall view suggests 3 pretty distinct tiers in the group.
As interesting as it is to look at stats, stats don't win games. The results from the last week of the season validate that.
Hopefully we have a couple of great games tomorrow.

Only 8 points between 1-6, with or without Spirit in the mix.
Looks like any one of the top 6 can all hang with the others. The bottom 3 had a hard time.
