Relocating to Dallas area from FL and looking for help finding a club/ team best for our girls. Haven't decided on area yet, but looking at Richardson, Plano, Frisco, etc. Both girls play competitive now.
Oldest played U 12 this year and moving to U 13.
Youngest played U10 this year, she is a true U9 and thrives with a highly competive team with a heavy focus on skills, first touch, etc. She has experience with 3v3 and plays on a separate tournament only team.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Is there one club that seems stronger when it comes to skills and being good all around?

There's a good deal of coach / team movement from club to club. Focus on finding coaches & teams who are good fits for your DDs and your location rather than a particular club.

There are good coaches at the big clubs and good ones at the many smaller clubs too. I know families with one child at one of the big three/four, and another at a smaller independent club. It's all because the coaches & other players are a good fit, not the name on the front of the shirt.

There are tons of options in those areas. In addition to the 3 clubs mentioned, Sting is an all girls club and big in the Richardson area. Liverpool also has some good teams in the area. Skill levels vary from team to team and there is no one club that is dominant overall. Really depends on the coach and the team. I would just pick out a few teams, near where you are going to live, and contact them to come out and practice. Also we are entering tournament season and there will opportunities to guest play with many of these teams or opportunities to watch several of these teams play in one location. Good luck, finding a good spot.

If she wants to play up here, she will probably have to wait a year. Unless, the new primetime league takes off.

With 2 DDs playing soccer, unless you have more than one adult drivers with flexible late afternoon/early evening schedules, I would strongly encourage you to lean towards practice location convenience when choosing clubs/teams.

If you end up in Frisco or northern Plano, lean towards FCD teams. If you end up in Richardson or eastern Plano, lean towards Liverpool or Sting teams. If you end up in southwestern Plano, you have more options and could look at Texans, Solar, and D'Feeters as well as FCD/Sting/Liverpool teams.

But, as others have pointed out, finding the right teams/coaches is much more important than finding the right club(s). Teams/coaches could change clubs (our DD's team changed clubs twice in one year, for example) and you may choose to change teams/clubs after learning more about how your DDs fit in.

There are so many teams (I would estimate 80+ select teams for each age group) and so many clubs (20+), it will be difficult to find the "perfect" fits for your DDs on your first try. At the same time, you are likely to find "good"/"strong" fits for your DDs with any large clubs or in any of the areas you are considering.

I am a coach at Liverpool looking to add players to my 02 girls team. When are you going to arrive in the dallas area ? We practice in plano at the Liverpool facilities at the corner of legacy and custer. If you are interested please contact me at 214-251-7465 or roger.vaughn@liverpoolfcamerica.com

A lot of this may come down to where you choose to live and how much drive time is realistic for your family.

Once you know where you'll be you can see which coaches / teams are within range for you.

Then go practice with them and guest play if possible. Should be do-able to try out two or three to find the best situation for each DD.

Maybe location will affect where you buy a home.  Most clubs are north of the metroplex.

I like this link from SDL...

cheers

Nice list from SDL. Has MOST of the clubs you'll see... missing a few of the independent clubs, especially ones that don't play SDL.

For FLsoccermom - there are several academy leagues around DFW. Most teams played this spring in the United Academy League with games around the Plano/Frisco/Carrollton area. There's also an academy league in Arlington, and ones run through private groups like SDL & the Primetime leagues. Some teams play in more than one league -- for example SDL or Primetime on Saturdays, and UAL on Sundays.

The top select-age teams play in the Lake Highlands Girls Classic League for U11 - U13, until ECNL & NPL begin pulling out the top performers. LHGCL plays in roughly the North Dallas/Southern Denton & Collin counties area. There are also select leagues in Plano & Arlington generally made up of teams that didn't quality for LHGCL or chose not to through the qualifying tournament.
