Needing some insight...please help!!!

I know this site is for North Texas Soccer. I'm posting here to try to get a non bias look at two clubs.

My daughter currently plays for Challenge Soccer U13. Recently she has been expressing interests in Rush Soccer (woodlands).

She will be trying out for the U14 ENCL.

With this in mind, which club is better. I know they (U14 Encl) have played North Texas Teams and would like input about what you have seen.

I'm at my minds end with this and with tryouts around corner I need some insight. Her goals are to play at the college level.

Any help would be great!!!

Second, IMO, there is no "silver bullet" answer.

Third, I believe both clubs are reputable or they would not be allowed in ECNL. I won't go over the concept of ECNL, but I will say that clubs are added and dropped from ECNL based on a number factors with performance being a major one. If you have not done so, look at each club's team standings for (U14-U18) on the ECNL website. This will probably just point out that the success of the club varies by age group.

Fourth, I would focus on learning as much as possible about the U14 coaches, the potential teams, and let your dd experience both for comparison. You have to find out which team wants her the most and what they are offering for her (e.g. scholarship, starting role, desire position). I believe the answer will be clear to you when it comes to choosing between ECNL clubs, its about what is best for your dd. Good luck!

If they are like NTx clubs, while teams change year to year in terms of their success/winning, there are common styles of play and coaching. You should take a look at the most recent stats from the U14 ECNL teams... Note the number of yellow cards for Rush. That team has more yellow cards (self reported) than all other teams combined (again, self reported). That should give you a sense of the type of soccer that they encourage and prefer... Does your DD fit that mold?
