It's about Youth Soccer for 02 Girls - not Dads
It's about Youth Soccer for 02 Girls - not Dads
Example: I heard today that a coach said "well do you want your daughter to get a scholarship, or just a driving license" when her daughter had to skip practice to take driver's Ed.
If you look closely, the SAINTS Raise Successful TEAMS (Team is the operative word- see below) that operate like a Team. A good team will invariably outperform a collection of individuals. Good team players have unusual characteristics - they are able to exercise individual skill when the opportunity presents, and settle in as a (simple) team player when it is to the team's advantage. This attribute is based on individual decision making - something that is less developed under 'dictatorial' coaches
The history of the SAINTS 02G Teams shows this continued (planned) team and player improvement. The 02G/Law team was at/below half-way in D2 last year. This year the Team finished (effective) #2 D.1 behind a very strong 'dromeda squad. This was an extraordinary improvement.
The 02G Team is able to take advantage of spacious practice fields and scrimmaging against the 02G/Mee team and others - fields are always available for these events. Despite the flooded fields this year, the SAINTS hardly missed a beat in practice.
Most important is recognition of "the Team". For the Club, you will find that the Soccer experience is about the Family as a Team. The real objective is to be successful in soccer without making the difficult and all too frequent sacrifice (Financial and Time) that others seem to mandate. Those parents who get it and wish to 'build their own experience', with soccer being an important part - but still just a part of a youth's athletic experience (a brief 6-7 yrs), realize a successful experience.
While Mia Hamm came from these parts.... she is the only one at that level. The rest of us need to get our parents to realize that it is the Girl's /Boy's success that matter - not the bragging rights of the Coach or club.
Just sayin....

Do you think they will be able to get first in D-2 next season?

If she can get a d-1 scholarship and drive well your job will be done.

Those fields look nice! Almost as good as FC Dallas!
But do you really get to practice on them?

Good one! At FC Dallas, you pay for fields you only get to look at.

Sho'nuff wrote:Soccer experience is about the family as a team..... seeking impact players. Sounds legit.
I am seeking the right players to make a positive impact on the field and off with this group. We are competitive and we fully expect a positive qualifying tournament into Lake Highlands. We are also a team that has a great dynamic and attitude for the game so we are not looking to add someone that doesn't make a positive impact on and off the field to our team. Having said all of this, we are seeking 2-3 IMPACT players for our already great team.
