Only 3 spots. Guess the thought of a 4th didn't hold true.

The brackets look odd to me...not necessarily uneven, but odd to see 3 APL teams in one bracket with PPL teams in the other...

Historically, the PPL top teams have gotten slightly higher seeds than ARL, then top of ARL, then D2 of PPL, then...so it seems it should/could have been:

1 Solar
2 NTFC
3 Galaxy
4 Cyclones
5 Lightning
6 Legacy
7 Fusion
8 Velocity

1, 3, 4, 5 in A and 2, 6, 7, 8 in B? Am I seeing it wrong? It may be a little harder to get the wildcard coming out of A...

i see it the same way Dad. Very uneven brackets to me. I don't understand the logic behind them but it's not the first time I've questioned LH logic either.
Dare I say, Bracket A appears to be the bracket of death.

Best of luck to all teams battling it out this week and weekend. The temperature is supposed to be 100+ Thursday - Sunday.

From personal experience this last weekend, even you parents should start hydrating now. There were a number of players experiencing heat stress this past weekend. I even got sunburned while under an umbrella.

Good luck and try to stay cool. sunny

It was certainly brutal this past weekend and forecast to be worse...of course, QT always is when you ratchet up the stress another 3 levels as well.

I am surprised that there were only 3 spots...seems almost odd that EVERY team kept it together??

Flanny is gone, but Feet fill there...otherwise, another Sting team taking the D2 spot I guess...or did someone get recalled?

My thinking is that Sting (FKA Dfeeters) took the D1 spot (even with the new rule that LH will not enforce) and then they just pulled Flash up to not have to qualify.

if a team does not have N+1 players (N=50% in this case) then LH reserves the right to place them in the appropriate division. So a club who's D1 team folds then goes out and gives the bye to a PPL D2 team of the same club (as the club owns the bye in this case), then LH said they "could" push them down into a lower division.

Thanks Sports for the explanation. I like that rule but as you stated, I could see how they won't really enforce it.

I am betting, that even though LH has the opportunity to apply this rule in almost every age group, that the actual application occurs . . .

I agree...hehe, you said logic...Well, I know it will be brutally hot, but at least many of the games are scheduled after the sun goes down...and only 1 per day...it is a little more fair to do it that way. My youngest dd got two games last Saturday...the second match was borderline child abuse...Sunday didn't feel QUITE as bad...get them hydrating NOW.

Looks like they may have seeded based on gotsoccer rankings. Take that for what it is worth, but it would produce the 2 brackets. 1,3,5,7 in one bracket and 2,4,6,8 in the other.

Well, the first four teams face Mother Nature tomorrow evening, Velocity, Fusion, Legacy and North Texas FB. Best of luck to all four teams - make sure the girls (and you) hydrate starting now. Break out the frog togs (wetting them and putting them in the freezer works wonders).

It is my understanding that Liverpool Keegan disbanded. Don't know any other details.

I believe Liverpool Keegan merged with Mustangs Navy, and took the D2 bye as Liverpool Toshack. I haven't seen any info on a D'Feeters team taking the bye left by the Patulea move to Sting.

Keegan just folded. There was no merge with Mustangs. Jimmy Spence just took his team to Liverpool but didn't take on v any of the keegan players that I know of.

Cyclones may have something to say about Galaxy making it. They have been going head to head last couple of years. Looks pretty even. I don't have a horse in the race just know a few of the girls from both sides. Should be interesting. I may drive up there to watch that one. Definitely a tough bracket that's for sure.
