Watched Solar and Galaxy play tonight. I hadn't seen Galaxy much before, but they have a good team...a couple of really strong forwards and their GK was fabulous. How'd the other games go?

So I guess Galaxy won?

Solar scored early and held on the rest of the way. 1-0.

Thanks for the (assumed) well-wishes, but the girls are taking NOTHING for granted. Still one more to play, and Lightning is always a tough game. The only way to assure it is to take care of our business...and it will be about 6000 degrees tomorrow. Rest and hydration, then go and give it everything.

I suspected this bracket would be a very stern test, and I am not surprised. There is no weak team in this year's group.

Solar put themselves in an excellent position by winning Saturday night.
They have paid their dues.
Always been an excellent team with great parents and enthusiastic coaches. For many years they have been on the threshold of legitimately qualifying for Lake Highlands.Keeping their team together . Constantly pushing forward to achieve their collective dream.
They have one more challenging step in their higher level journey. I and many others believe that Sunday's match will be a celebration of their efforts, their tenacity, their long awaited reward. Good Luck. Now is your time.

With Legacy tying Fusion, does that mean if Cyclones and Galaxy tie 1-1 that there would be a PK between Cyclones and Fusion for the last spot?

By my math solar silver is in. 2 teams canot pass them. It is going to come down to final game at 8pm of cyclones v galaxy. If cyclones need a win or 2-2 tie to take outright assuming lightning doesn't beat silver. A 1-1 tie and it would go to pks a 0-0 tie and fusion goes on. Again depends in solar last game. Any updates?

Yep, Silver and NTFC are in, Congrats to them. I'm pulling for Cyclones. Come onnnnnnnn Cyclones, seriously, get it done.

Lightning would be thinking otherwise OLJW and hoping for a tie in tonight's game. Just a guess.

Whatever the outcome, hats off to all girls this weekend. They endured some abuse playing in the heat and really put forth some great soccer! Congrats and best of luck in the upcoming season.

Congrats to all the girls for playing in the heat and rising to the challenge! One slight correction is needed - NTFC win over Velocity Elite is incorrect, it was 2-0 not 2-1. That was 3 shutouts for NTFC; on to LH!

Just waiting to see how the other bracket settles thing out, but good teams all around competing for a placement.

Hi Tex...Fusion is out of the hunt unfortunately. It comes down to the Cyclones and Galaxy game as to which one of the three (lightning now included) get in. It's really any one of them at this point.

Cyclones need a 3-3 tie or outright win to advance.

No doubt Lightning feels differently, I have nothing against them or anyone else in this QT for that matter. Brutal conditions to play in.

Cyclones have to win. A 3-3 tie only gets them 14 points and they lose first tiebreaker, goal differential. Lightning is +2 and cyclones would be even. Even if galaxy wins it has to be max points 3-0 win. Lightning has them on GD. Someone needs 15 to get in past lightning as they have better tiebreaker.
