02 ODP TRYOUT

Anyone participated in this year's tryout for this year?Any insight from those who attended?

Was very similar to a couple years ago, except only 2 hrs and will be only one more session next week. focus on 1v1. Will be curious to see how the scrimmaging goes on Sunday. I'd say there were maybe 125 02s and maybe 80 03s (very rough estimate).

Facilities were top notch compared to where they were back when- especially for the parents! Covered grandstand seating or a nice hill, with bathroom facilities. It is quite a hike though for anyone in the middle or east metroplex.

Wow! 125 is great turn out. With ECNL progressing with 02 this year, hope we can keep some talents in the pool.

What facilities are the tryouts being held at?

Is it the private school out in ft. Worth

***Also, they bumped the tryouts from 9-11 to 8am to 10am because of the heat!***

We got there last week a tad late, maybe 10 minutes but a buddy of mine said they actually started warmups maybe 15 minutes early.

Finally, if you are coming from the east you will want to access the fields from the east side of the complex, Alameda and N. Normandale streets. I made the mistake of exiting 1-30 and Longvue last week and found out the west side gates were locked.

Regarding talent pool, hard to say. Once you make ODP you don't have to try out again, so possibly lots of ODP'ers will be leaving for ECNL next year so you just don't know. Then there is that whole age pure impact thing....uh, but I think there's another thread on that ;-)

Cassidy, coaches at the ft. Worth private school. Will she be taking the 02's this year.

I think 02G will have Fleur Benetar as head coach.

She's a good one!

She is fantastic.

Have to correct my number estimates above- I didnt realize there were a lot of other age groups also. I'd say this past Sunday there were maybe 50 02 players.
