Just curious what the thoughts are, do you guys think all 00 teams in LHGCL will move up to 99's (U18)?

They would be birth year 00s at u17
Or move up and be considered u19.

If LH was smart...and I am NOT making any accusations...we would see a U18 division so that they could have a league of "hs juniors" that would play a full year rather than a junior/senior league where they have to worry about the spring season drop off that inevitably occurs with the senior teams, but isn't as pronounced with the juniors...then the U19 league could open some qualifying and add members...even junior teams that felt their best chance might be to play up at this point...Otherwise the "super groups" created will be massive (possibly combining two age years), and scheduling will be a nightmare.

I would think most teams would play up and I would hope LHGCL does create a u18 with those teams and let them play their last full year. I mean why not it's money. The current 99's would move up to 98's and they could be the u19 group with half a season as the majority will be seniors.

It's my understanding there will be a U18 division. Within D2 there are at least 5 teams with 12 or more players that are 00s or 01s. I think Fever has 17 00s/01s and only 4 that would be true 99s.

My take is this, "They either will move up or they won't." Cool

Somebody has been doing their homework.

I doubt it.

Many of them would get their aXX handed to them by girls who have been playing at the 99 level to date.

At all ages, most girls and their parents will want to play at the youngest level they are eligible for to maintain as much as an age advantage as possible.

Though I think you are right about the younger ages, I'm not sure at the 00 level if the year is that big a deal any more...most of these girls play those girls a year or two older every day at school, then on Tuesdays and Fridays...

Quite a few 00s play or guest play with 99s all the time, and most of the time it is pretty hard to tell the difference. I agree that it may be an issue at the younger ages, but I think that going into their junior year that many of these girls have been there/done that and won't be fazed by the "older" girls...the physical maturity is negligible, and the physicality shouldn't be new to any of them who have played in LH...They have been allowed to get their aXX handed to them by refs for years unfortunately.

The reverse might actually be true in the spring. The younger 99s that are seniors may be done and abandon the team leaving some teams gutted for the their last few games...or those 99s may just play up with their classmates like they always have instead of playing down with the juniors.
