And besides FCsoccer1 you should be worried about what's going with DT Farley/Scott than with other teams.. Good luck to your dd.

Congrats to FCD Elite on being crowned State Cup Champions. I know most of these kids and parents and know that they have put in a lot of blood, sweat, tears over the years to acomplish this feat. Great Job!

Congrats are also in order for LP Elite. Watching these girls this past season overcome one challenge after another makes me proud to be a parent on this team. After losing key players to injury and other circumstances, the girls played a good portion of the season including State Cup with 12 players. They struggled a bit at times but they righted the ship and got their mojo back. They played the State Cup Finals with only 11 players, losing their keeper the day before to a concussion. As SOAP said, both teams left everything out on the field pushing FCD Elite to PKs including two OTs with no subs. To me, that's the heart of a champion and not something that can be coached.

With ECNL on the horizon, who knows what this team and others will look like in the coming months. (Although I think the core will stay intact on this team). LP Elite has had a great run the past few years as has DTS, FCD Elite, D'Feeters, DT Scott and others. It has really been a fun ride! Thanks to all the teams who constantly pushed this team (and my DD) to be better. Good luck to everyone and their DD in their upcoming decisions for next year!

Oh. And if ECNL is not an option for your DD, look our way because we are planning to give this another "go" next season! Open practices this week.!

Did LP Premier become LP Elite after LP (RASE) Elite left for FCD? I'm confused.

If I thought you were asking a serious question I would have given you a serious answer. Since this wasn't your first post, I assumed you already knew the answer. Most of us who are familiar with this age group and post on the forum know the progression. I apologize if you're an exception.

Yes, LW coached 03, 04 RASE teams and 04 Dalglish (Premier).  Before going select, he handed off the 04 RASE team to Adam and kept the 03 and 04 Dalglish (Premier).   Going into the second year of select, LW moved his 03 and 04 teams to FCD.

Thanks for the history refresher on the top teams in the 04 age group. I can't keep it straight in LHGCL since my kid is in PPIL. How did LW manage to overtake the team that he originally built? I have to assume that he's an amazing coach but how much of it was recruiting and how much coaching to overtake his former team?

They were really good team already. They also picked up a REALLY good Spirit girl(s) last summer. Not sure if she played this weekend though.

If you just want to ask or highlight that LW can coach then yes he can. My DD started with him and Texans and turned into the top academy team only to have the team stolen by DM. No problem just start over from scratch and build the top team again at LP. Over the years we watched as a core of original girls developed together to make the top team in the nation at one point. We lost a few friends over the years to other top teams and had a few new ones join. This was not a team built thru recruitment but by a consistent, well taught and developed core roster. LW did it the hard was and it has lasted even after he was gone. It was a tough year of ups and downs (certainly more downs than they are used too) but they still managed to overcome and win CL and finalist in statecup. So yes LW can coach (it breaks my heart that little girls today aren't lucky enough to have the same development my dd did when she was young.) the fact that there are no new little Weddlites coming out in NTX is a loss for soccer here. This game didn't prove he could coach, neither team does either. Just look at the list of girls on several of the top teams and keep an eye on the things they go on to do and there you will see the fact that he can coach.

Yeah he can coach...but more importantly he teaches. Hell...anybody can "coach" these days.

I wonder how much longer he'll stay with that team. With select coaches moving around seems like it should be any year now.

I think the forum showed he will basically take the top AP 03 and AP 04 FCD teams. So that team stays in the 04's and loses it's birthyear 03's. And he takes the FCD 03 premier bye and team and plays in the 03 AP. It's a reshuffle and some girls may get lost in the mix but no idea how the actual breakdown will be

So FCdallas, Solar, or Rush #1 for 04s...

04's are shaping up to be more interesting. Hearing impressive things about FCD but would be hard to bet against pulpdaddy

I'm on the outside looking in with my daughter in PPIL so the only agenda I have is curiosity. I have nothing but respect for the coaches that know the formula for success and are able to repeat it time and time again. It's a remarkable accomplishment.

I find it odd that genuine curiosity is met with skepticism and paranoia.
