Re: Texas Rush expanding to North Texas?
So it would have to be a smaller club that would not care and then it is more about economics and money - all the admin could easily merge for scalability. I just do not see any advantage for the Girls? Perhaps they have other vision (dreams) of hosting a larger scale tournament some day - again for the $$$$. Well they will have a battle over the NTX current market holders.....

Re: Texas Rush expanding to North Texas?
I think the Rush Club format is different than all of the NTX clubs, I believe that they have players join the club, then all specific age groups practice together, are constantly evaluated, and placed on teams based on skills, need, and development. I am probably wrong, but that is my impression having talked with some RUSH parents in the past.bigtex75081 wrote:Does Texas Rush offer anything new/different that the existing clubs here in NTX do not? NTX is dominant, but it's less so - even Austin/Oklahoma teams have won Premier League titles. I do wonder what large club would get anything out of Rush coming up here vs just merging - unless it were Liverpool or Andromeda - although, every club would welcome any additional revenue obviously.
ECNL membership would be a benefit.

I was wondering about that earlier comment about STX being relatively weak. Thinking things must have changed dramatically. In the not-too-distant past, clubs like Challenge and Texans put together VERY good teams in the older age groups.

Subdivisions... is your kid a sub???
Conform or be cast out...
Subdivisions... on the soccer pitch
Subdivisions... getting cut's a b**ch
Be good or be cast out...
Any escape might help to prove
The NTX system is really screwed
But the Indy's have no charms to soothe
Unless your looking for smaller dues...

Texas Rush is an ECNL club and their 2 oldest teams suck. 1-4-12 in U18, 2-0-15 in U17. If they do come here, it will just be another mediocre club to contend with.

They also disproportionately put girls in national pools. If RUSH came here and merged with Liverpool that would be a game changer in the NTX market...no question about it.

Colorado Rush ECNL U16 in the Dallas International Cup were dominant. They were very impressive.

Re: Texas Rush expanding to North Texas?
Is it a convenient rumor provided to buy time for LP's existing teams trying to hold off a player exodus from its top teams?
Does anyone know how close or far LP is from attaining ECNL status on its own?

Packrabbit wrote:NTX is much more competitive in terms of choice of clubs, teams, coaches etc than STX, which IMO is a NTX strength. The more the merrier... If LP could pull that off, that would be truly impressive... Would it make much sense for any of the other clubs to merge? They would still have to get a LH team in every age group, but with ECNL status attainable, it would provide momentum to that end. But it begs the question(s)...

I had that thought too, but if they (LP-Rush) were to join forces (and become one band-YES!), wouldn't their club still just have the ECNL team in STX...and logistically, wow?? How bad do you want that?? If that was the goal, wouldn't you just jump ship here? Probably still just be the owner of a lonely heart...sorry, couldn't help it.

Re: Texas Rush expanding to North Texas?
One benefit from a business standpoint would be consolidation of management and resources, but even that would be limited IMO.
I guess we'll know soon enough.

From what I have heard LP has no desire to join ECNL and that they believe premier league and national league offers the best competition and opportunity for their players.

Hope this thread doesn't delve into benefits of ECNL debate. There's already a 13 page topic on that.

What else would you expect them to say?
