'06s & Different Leagues #'s
LHGCL JDL (Lake Highlands): 10
LHGCL (Lake Highlands): 30
PPL (Plano Premier): 12
APL (Arlington Premier): 9
PTS (Prime Time): 25
Total teams: 86
Looks like the "powers at be" at PPL & APL are resting on their history too much and not enough promoting.......and they are seeing a DRAMATIC decrease in teams playing....or maybe there's just not as many '06 teams?
What ever the case is.....Congrats to PTS on pulling 2 full divisions for it only being their 2nd year of existence.

Tell me more! This is insightful.

The numbers of kids in the January -July range that have already walked away from the sport as they were being looked past for the bigger stronger kids is staggering.
ODP tryouts last night was more of the same.. no offense but the number of former 07s was staggering.

Re: '06s & Different Leagues #'s
To me it was a sampling of the age group. There was representation from nearly every "top" team in the age group.. but the percentage of kids on the older side of the spectrum was greatly outnumbered by the younger...
No, i do not know all their birth dates, but gauging physical maturity, and what appeared to be mental maturity... it was telling..
Wonder if anyone else noticed the one kid that kept laying on the ground and literally rolling around like she was at daycare and throwing a tantrum.

I'm overly informed and didn't know it started. Website says no prorate of tryout fee. GTFOH.

We have found, over the years, this developmental approach speeds up learning to create the best all-around experience. The list below is an example of just a few players over the years that have benefited from this program:

What are you even getting at. They all wore the same orange shirt that was passed out.
Sorry, I guess I have been at this too long and know a lot of the older girls on sight, having had my kid train with them, play with them, or play against them over the last 6 years.
Like my boy Skeets said... we will all one day share a sideline... GULP! LOL

Re: '06s & Different Leagues #'s
They place the girls into squads based on their evaluated ability by the ODP staff. Defined A, B,C, D teams, etc...
As the years pass the numbers of teams drop.
the 05s that made it last year are not required to try out again, which is why the 05 group looked like it did last night. As long as they were in good standing they get to continue with the program generally.

Yes because these coaches always get it right at 10-years old. Know a kid pretty well who was 3rd team at the start and Regional team a few years later.
ODP is different for every single kid, so blanket statements really are of no value.
