New 05 US Youth Soccer Rankings - Page 3 Empty Re: New 05 US Youth Soccer Rankings

this dialogue in this thread is , in my opinion, one of the best reasons what is wrong with our overall program. It is a closed system verse free market. It is the belief of those "in control" that if you "limit" the participants, the better kids will gravitate to the top teams and all will be ok in the world. Over and over again free wide open markets triumph over closed controlled (regulated) markers. Of course I am drawing on a business correlation to relate it to youth soccer but the same principles align. If there is a top player on say a Spirit team, it is the belief (and desire) of the ruling parties that that top player will be drawn, recruited, or simply show up on a team in jdl for the opportunity to play and "get better". The flaws in the thinking are so many I cannot type that fast but the system never works. We (as consumers) would be well served by a heavy dose of back to the future and have all our kids playing in a singular league open league that you can earn your way into and then a singular elite program, administered by a third party (like an odp, although flawed due to ntssa) and allow the market verse a few know it all's to oversee and determine our kids future. Then there is an entire case to be made for isn't the opportunity about the experience and possible college, but that is for another thread...
Just my three cents.

You Just repeated what the last 20 years has looked like. Top clubs dominating the leagues with a free open market. All I saw were games that two teams from different clubs came together not to play soccer but kick the shit out of each other and then parents come on to this board and talk more shit to each other. Great System!

I disagree. What you saw were players, coaches and parents who gave a flip about games. Competition mattered. Players learned how to compete. Cream rose to the top. State cup won in 2010 meant the same thing as a state cup won in 1985. National champion was a national champion. Somehow players through that system had success on the world stage. Not suprising new generation of politicized country club players coming up on a diet of glorified scrimmages and meaningless, me first-team last games has major trouble when they face any stiff competition.

All I am seeing through some of these JDL teams is a whole lot of zilch. They are not playing in anything. I guess they are practicing the crap out of the girls. Not what I would pay money for at this point. Pulp has played what, 7 games other than JDL? Higgs hasn't played in anything it seems. Can't say that is something I would sign up for. Those coaches are good but not that good.

NTX players and teams compete on the national stage early then fall off fast when others start to catch up with theit speed and size with zero soccer IQ. I saw players and parents giving a flip about winning at U-9, U-10 but out of the game after their size and speed were no more. Parent fights on line, parents fighting at the fields and referees scared to call a foul or pull a card due to the insanity. You have your way and club that is how you think your DD should be developed enjoy.
