Both!
A coach with a full-time job that's only available after 5PM.
A FT coach, with no other job...

In many if not most all cases, 1 team is too many.
Where else do you see a single coach for a team at any level, in any sport? Be it HS, College or Pro.
The only 1 coach per team, and 1 coach having multiple teams is about coaches maximizing income, not what is best for the players or team.
Quick way to assess is to ask your DD:
. What did you learn new at practice today i.e any teaching going on?
. What was practice about today i.e. what part of the game did you work on?

At most clubs it's 2-4 teams for a ft coach. At fcd it's 6-10 for a coach that has a full time job.

It is amazed to see those so called big names have so many teams and rely on the assistant coaches to coach.
