For the teams that were only able to play one game, see below for the credit you will receive toward next years Premier Cup.
U8 - $275 - Credit of $70
U9 & U10 $425 - Credit of $95
U11 & U12 9v9 $545 - Credit of $125
U13 - U19 $595 - Credit of $150
In order to receive the credit you will need to save this email along with a screenshot of your teams standings for this event, showing only one game was played.
Thanks,
Jennifer Pivnick

Re: Solar Soccer Club Premier Cup powered by Adidas
And actually truth be told -- I expect to see tournaments increasing their prices, especially if you want quality fields, good referee's, Nice trophies and quality medals. Let's also not forget about the tournament gift... not required, but a nice touch I would say.
As most people are aware 1000's of hours are spent from staff and volunteers to create an event that ensures our children have an opportunity to play in a pre-season tournament that is competitive, balanced, fair and fun! So any cancellations due to weather is certainly a disappointment for everyone involved.
Re: Solar Soccer Club Premier Cup powered by Adidas
Seriously though. I am trying to understand the costs associated with a partially cancelled tournament.
I presume no field or ref fees for cancelled games.
Trophies / medals - reused next year or thrown away?
Certainly I understand overhead (software, scheduler, etc.) - but I see the U8 paid $205 for a game (after credit), so if overhead is split equally between teams, not more than $150 per team.
A $150 credit for U13 and up?? With 2 games not played, I would think ref fees and field rental for those 2 games alone (costs I presume are not paid by Solar) would be more than $75 per game?

Referee fee's are paid even if the game was cancelled. Fields were reserved and paid for in advance for certain locations and presumed usage for others. Trophies and medals can be used next year if the logo stays the same. GotSoccer fee's are associated with every registration, US Club fee's as well, Credit card processing fee's, Scheduler fee, referee assignor fee. Trainer fee's, Tents, golf carts, all paid for. Team gifts were all received.
Believe me the host Club does not make as much as you think - that is my point of expect tournament prices to increase over the next few seasons. It is almost not worth the work involved, other than all the smiling faces and happy kids you see of course.

Sorry gotta call BS here. I have never known a tourney where the refs get paid in the event of rain. Granted my kids have only been reffing for a couple years, but they have worked all kinds of tourneys. My little reffing crew will request working your tourney next year as PT was rained out and they were not paid for the games. U90 and many of the other tourneys do not pay, so you are the only 1 if that statement is accurate.
The other expenses seem reasonable, I might think field fees would be refunded, but really dont know, maybe that is why the fields shut down so quick(if they keep money anyway).

We are always short handed and need more staff to help run these events, any takers?? I think we should do a combined club tournament so everyone is happy and involved... wait that just be me day dreaming everyone happy.... not possible

That makes sense and is reasonable. So today, your ref expense was $0 since games were cancelled a head of time. So slightly different than the original assertion of ref's still having to be paid.
For PT, games were cancelled today at 730 as we were pulling in. Refs received 1st game pay since they made the trip, but not for additional games they were scheduled for.

Foolish to think that these tournaments don't make money. They are a mother load especially when you have volunteers doing the work.
