ESC has lost or tied a few NTX teams. They are definitely a strong contender, but all teams that went should have been. Like Eddy said, someone had to be in Rush's bracket. Aside from the 16 point game, all scores in that bracket were pretty respectable.

Out of the 16 teams only two were strong silver bracket teams. The other 14 were definitely in the right division.

Can we officially declare Rush to be the best 09 team in the country?

No, Blues weren’t there, but the team that beat them in State Cup was.

Just a tad bit cringe worthy to officially declare anything regarding U9 girls. Can we all agree to not go down this path?

Big Ole Soccer Balls & Stixnstones,

The NTX teams (Samba Scarfone, Solar Angelone and Solar Colvin) gave ESC a run for their money back in May. I remember reading that ESC lost to Colvin and won against Angelone in OT. So, it was a great idea to separate our NTX girls.

No doubt Dallas Rush is pretty amazing, but to regard them as the best in the World...?!

NTX does have some pretty good DA and ECNL teams!

It’s pretty clear that NTX has the top 09 girls in the country, collectively. Texans Scarfone, Solar Angelone, Solar Colvin, Rush, Solar South are all top teams in the COUNTRY based on my vantage point at Super Copa. Very few play the style of ball these teams play. CO Rush was as close to looking like a NTX team than any of them. NTX is strong in this age group. Of course things change but it’s really fun right now with this much competition.

I agree with Eddy... the competition is strong in NTX and iron sharpens iron. ESC will continue to come down to Dallas for tournaments twice a year as well. The Cali teams will get a lot better in the years to come and some of the best Cali teams won’t match up against Dallas teams unless the top Dallas teams go to Surf Cup next year. But in the mean time, we now know that NTX teams don’t need to go anywhere to be continually challenged at the highest level. Teams like CO Rush and TFA out of Ohio or Lehigh out of Penn or Players out of Nevada, they don’t have this same level of competition near by to compete against on a regular basis. If you look at their gotsoccer records, they all all playing up against ‘08s to be challenged.

The best in the world talk is silly but the showing of all 4 NTX teams made us all proud for the ‘09 girls division. Now, on the other hand, the ‘09 boys division has some serious work to do.

This tournament only made me believe even more that Rush is very good.. not SRSA 03 level but they are the best in NTX hands down. The bracket they were in was BS it had the #1 OK / CA / TX and a team that shouldn't have been there. Sorry to burst bubbles but had Slammers been in another bracket they most likely would have beat all the other NTX teams.

Offsides,

Slammers tied Scarfone in the Vegas cup only a few months ago and lost to CO Rush Dibiassi in that same tournament as well whom Scarfone lost barely in overtime and Angelone tied. Slammers also tied ESC which is an equal team with the Texas teams. I think Slammers are good but I don’t think it is a given they would have beat the Texas teams. ESC, Slammers, CO Rush Dibiassi, Angelone, South and Scarfone are all on par with each other. Rush is on another level.

Well i don't understand the umlimited guess player format. If u were selected to go as your team, why would u take different players. Or why would it be permitted.

ProphAC is spot on, every team is pretty much even at this point. I think Texas teams had the edge and Rush is a little better than the rest, or move the ball better

Soccergodntx,

Colvin qualified for the tournament, Angelone didn’t play in the Premier Copa last year. Colvin couldn’t take his team so he asked Super Copa director that Angelone go in his place. Angelone opened it up to other coaches to send a couple of guest players to be fair to other Solar teams since Colvin was the one that qualified. Evans declined to send any, Covey sent a few and Colvin sent one.

In response to guest players. All these teams from out of state do it. ESC white is a travel team... there is a black, green, yellow. They pool their best to play outside of Oklahoma. California, Colorado, the same thing. We aren’t the only state that wants to impress when we travel.

For sure! Why go with an empty chamber? Load that gun up. Gotta represent out of state.

Yes but wasn't Colvin there with an older team. I know Scarfone had her 08s and 09s and doubt she had guest players her team would be the same as the one you would play here in NTX. Solar should have just called the team Pre JDL 09G but guess had to come up with a story to keep parents happy. I know I will be rushing to those talent identification camps next time... NOT.

ProhAC,

Why couldn’t Colvin take his team? He had his 07 team there. I’m having a hard time understanding the reasoning behind it. Does this mean that he was willing to not have his team invited next year since he didn’t qualified this year? If so, what a sacrifice!

I saw DT Scarfone, Solar South, Solar Angelone play at SuperCopa this past week and they represented NTX really well. They would have given Slammers a hard time...hands down! I’m just glad my DD gets to play with some of the best our nation has to offer.

Seriously doubt any Rush parent cares what Solar does. They are constantly chasing harder competition, as evidence by playing boys and 2008s. I would think they would welcome a "Solar Super Team" if anything.

Offsides has clearly stated where they are in the past.
I think OS is just pointing to the Colvin story not adding up.
But Solar did put together a pretty good team based on results.
