Re: TOP TEN 08’ BOYS TEAMS
Liverpooldad: Coach used the BR tourney to make some lineup changes and the team responded. Moving on the this weekend against some solid STX teams, we played really well and beat a pretty solid OKC Energy team in the final. Our team only allowed 3 goals all tournament and 2 of the 3 were soft 1 being a great shot upper 90. Moving forward our boys are clicking moving into next year. The other NTX teams didn’t fair so well, Allegiance didn’t score a goal but I’m sure completed a ton of passes I also watched OKC hammer the Kicks who just didn’t look good against them that being said I quit watching when it was 4-0 the Kicks went on to score 2 goals. I think moving into the new year our boys are going to be tough to beat.

Re: TOP TEN 08’ BOYS TEAMS
Still haven't seen a U11 team that can put together a 30-40 pass possession ending in a goal like I saw Allegiance do. If there is a team that can do it please post up a video or let me know who so I can catch one of their games.

Still haven’t seen Allegiance put together enough wins ending in a tournament championship like McKinney does. If there is a picture of allegiance winning anything meaningful and recent please post it so I can see.
I would rather have 5 sets of 12 consecutive passes resulting in 5 goals than to have 30 passes ending in 1 goal

I agree with soccerfanatic2008, I can appreciate 30-40 pass combo's that end in a goal, but give me a team that doesn't pass the ball just to pass the ball, give me a team that passes the ball to find soft spots in defenses, and attacks them when they see them. If that happens in 7 passes or 77 passes it doesn't matter.

The truth is, McKinney was and still is the top 08 team in North Texas. They may lose a game here and there, but nobody else has their track record. This is 3 tournament championships for them since September. No other team even comes close to that. That’s why they will continue to be ranked #1 in gotsoccer and YSR.
While I don’t disagree with you, I think it’s a little early to crown McKinney for this season. I still want to see how they fare against Liverpool and the Dallas Kicks in Classic League play in the spring. If they lose one or both of those matches, and the team they lose too runs the table the rest of the of the way in Classic league, I think McKinney’s ranking will be up to debate.

Re: TOP TEN 08’ BOYS TEAMS
As far as the OKC energy central/east thing, I saw the team picture someone posted on Facebook, and that team from this weekend had a lot of the same players from the OKC team that played in league challenge cup. I’m sure they did player passes within the club as a lot of teams do for big tournaments.
Seed, you have it right: if McKinney has figured out his lineup and his team starts rolling, they are dangerous. They took down a team that hammered the kicks earlier the same day. That’s pretty impressive

If a team finishes 2nd in classic league and also wins multiple big tournaments, they should be ranked above a team that wins classic league and cannot manage to win a single big tournament.

Its not about the Kicks. It could be Liverpool. I'm not biased. All I'm saying is let the process play out because its still early. I actually like what I see from McKinney. Even in their Tournament loss to Suarez, McKinney "looked" like the better team with their passes and ect, but could not put the ball in the net. But simply basing their ranking off of tournaments when the season is barley halfway completed seems pre-mature. And while the tournaments do play a part in ranking, they aren't the end all be all. McKinney will still need to take care of business on the field when they play the other top teams in Classic League play. Or, as I stated earlier, their ranking for this season could be up for debate. They were clearly the #2 team last season. This season is still unfolding.
