The 2 teams that played in the final also both were in the group that got a bye. So they played fewer games than everyone else up to the championship game Rayos definitely got screwed.

Hey Scuba Dude check this, a few months ago both the Dallas Kicks and FCD Saurez were beat by a D1 team that is now deemed unworthy of mention by this forum. Guess which team?

What’s funny about that? I think it was already stated in here that the old PSG was clearly the top 08 team prior to going DA. Nobody denies that. So what’s your point?

It is ridiculous to focus on which team of 9 and 10yr olds is the best. It should be about which club is developing the kids the best.

TxR I know which team, they also beat Heighway. I saw the Solar McKinney-Suarez game. McKinney looked great, they played similar to Allegiance. They are my 2nd favorite team behind Allegiance. Still havent seen a team in DI that can put together 20-30 pass possession ending in a goal like Allegiance. Hey do you think the Allegiance coach makes his boys complete 3 passes before they can take a shot? How does he get them to pass so well? My kid's team practices possession all week but it's all long ball in the games.

McKinney won the Bobby Rhine not top tier competition but ok for a thanksgiving tournament. I didn’t see any of the other top teams this weekend in the BR. Who else played?

I saw the list of teams in Bobby Rhine. No other “top” NTX teams, but Solar McKinney did play 2 D1 teams and the number 2 team in Texas South in the Championship. Not too shabby. Dallas Kicks played in surf challenge in San diego. They made it to semi final, but surprising to see that not many of the top California teams played as they have in previous years. Didnt see any other big tournaments this weekend. Im guessing a lot of teams took the weekend off

Hey Rooster08Dad, you mentioned before that your son plays on Solar McKinney. I saw on the NTX Facebook page that you guys won the Southampton Cup this weekend. Congrats. I noticed that both the Kicks and Allegiance were at the tournament as well. Can you give some feedback on some of the games? Solar won the championship against an OKC Energy team that has been giving the other “top” NTX teams a lot of problems

Take 2...
Liverpooldad: Coach used the BR tourney to make some lineup changes and the team responded. Moving on the this weekend against some solid STX teams, we played really well and beat a pretty solid OKC Energy team in the final. Our team only allowed 3 goals all tournament and 2 of the 3 were soft 1 being a great shot upper 90. Moving forward our boys are clicking moving into next year. The other NTX teams didn’t fair so well, Allegiance didn’t score a goal but I’m sure completed a ton of passes I also watched OKC hammer the Kicks who just didn’t look good against them that being said I quit watching when it was 4-0 the Kicks went on to score 2 goals. I think moving into the new year our boys are going to be tough to beat.

When McKinney lost to Suarez, a lot of people started to think they were no longer the top team. I even heard rumors of Suarez claiming to be the new top team. The truth is, McKinney was and still is the top 08 team in North Texas. They may lose a game here and there, but nobody else has their track record. This is 3 tournament championships for them since September. No other team even comes close to that. That’s why they will continue to be ranked #1 in gotsoccer and YSR.

Pulled up the Southhampton Cup results, McKinney was the only top team in bracket B, it was a cakewalk to the finals. If Allegiance and McKinney switched brackets Allegiance may have been the team from bracket B in the finals. It is awesome that McKinney beat that Oklahoma team who has been winning down here making us look bad.

Still haven't seen a U11 team that can put together a 30-40 pass possession ending in a goal like I saw Allegiance do. If there is a team that can do it please post up a video or let me know who so I can catch one of their games.

I am not sure how they seeded that bracket, but I’m guessing they had 1-OKC 2- SolarMcKinney. 3- Kicks 4- Chelsea ID. 5-Allegiance. 6- youth development academy. 7- Liverpool. 8- New Orleans. If anyone was to switch brackets with McKinney, it would have been Kicks, not Allegiance. If allegiance wants better bracket assignments, they should start winning some games to earn better seeding.

Still haven’t seen Allegiance put together enough wins ending in a tournament championship like McKinney does. If there is a picture of allegiance winning anything meaningful and recent please post it so I can see.

I would rather have 5 sets of 12 consecutive passes resulting in 5 goals than to have 30 passes ending in 1 goal

Looking at the results of the Southampton Cup, it seems to me that it wouldn't have mattered what bracket McKinney played in, they beat the best team from the other bracket. A team that has been steamrolling NTX teams of late. Looking at the scores, McKinney seems to be scoring again. If that is the case, and they have found a cohesive lineup, watch out.

I agree with soccerfanatic2008, I can appreciate 30-40 pass combo's that end in a goal, but give me a team that doesn't pass the ball just to pass the ball, give me a team that passes the ball to find soft spots in defenses, and attacks them when they see them. If that happens in 7 passes or 77 passes it doesn't matter.

For the record, OKC Energy FC “Central” won the League Challenge Cup last month. That is a different team altogether from the OKC Energy FC “East” team that competed in the Southampton Cup.

While I don’t disagree with you, I think it’s a little early to crown McKinney for this season. I still want to see how they fare against Liverpool and the Dallas Kicks in Classic League play in the spring. If they lose one or both of those matches, and the team they lose too runs the table the rest of the of the way in Classic league, I think McKinney’s ranking will be up to debate.

Miyagi, even if another team manages to win classic league, it doesn’t mean they are automatically the best team in NTX in my opinion. Tournaments play a big role as well. If a team finishes 2nd in classic league and also wins multiple big tournaments, they should be ranked above a team that wins classic league and cannot manage to win a single big tournament.

As far as the OKC energy central/east thing, I saw the team picture someone posted on Facebook, and that team from this weekend had a lot of the same players from the OKC team that played in league challenge cup. I’m sure they did player passes within the club as a lot of teams do for big tournaments.

Seed, you have it right: if McKinney has figured out his lineup and his team starts rolling, they are dangerous. They took down a team that hammered the kicks earlier the same day. That’s pretty impressive

Scuba Steve really? I’m all for being a homer cause I am, but Allegiance really ? I would take it if you said the kicks. Allegiance makes the final to be boot stomped by OKC or kicks or Mckinney take you pick. Pedro May have them playing “the right way” but sounds like y’all just don’t have the players to keep up.

Its not about the Kicks. It could be Liverpool. I'm not biased. All I'm saying is let the process play out because its still early. I actually like what I see from McKinney. Even in their Tournament loss to Suarez, McKinney "looked" like the better team with their passes and ect, but could not put the ball in the net. But simply basing their ranking off of tournaments when the season is barley halfway completed seems pre-mature. And while the tournaments do play a part in ranking, they aren't the end all be all. McKinney will still need to take care of business on the field when they play the other top teams in Classic League play. Or, as I stated earlier, their ranking for this season could be up for debate. They were clearly the #2 team last season. This season is still unfolding.
