Re: U14 Frontier Division
I would have to say there was less Offense played that day than more Defense.Big Ern wrote:5050Ball wrote:Why'd they pick on him? Nobody in the Big 12 plays D anyway.
Fitty --
I was wondering ... Did you happen to catch the Big 12 football match on television last night? No? Oh ... It was most exhilarating. The Red Raiders of Texas Tech took on the Horned Frogs of TCU. And in the end, the Red Raiders triumphed by kicking an oblong ball made of pigskin through a big 'H'. It was most gripping victory!
Just 17-14. At least a skosh of 'D' being played wouldn't ya say?

Front came through at beginning of the game. Solar had significant wind advantage in the first half that was much much stronger than the wind in the second half. Just seeing the score doesn't give the story of the game. People there know how close this one was. This is why we joined the DA for facing opponents like this. Looking forward to facing them again!

Not to burst your bubble, OK'ED, but Solar did not have 3 of their starters at the match, including their top scorer. Still, I absolutely agree OK Energy is very talented and very DA-worthy. Good luck this weekend vs. FC Dallas!

Why didn't Solar have 3 of their starters at the match, including their top scorer? Perhaps they were playing in an ECNL match that Solar deemed more important.

Should be clear by now ... DA players are not eligible to participate in matches of ANY other kind while under contract of USSDA ..... EVER.

Hey Ziz/BigE - Is that true at U14? DA doesn't post standings for U14, so is that age group considered "official" DA and under all of the same restrictions as U15-U19?

Yes. This is now true for any player that was signed to a DA roster to start the Academy year.

So 3 starters missing for Solar, including top scorer, and still they took care of business in OK?soccerphreak wrote:OkieEnergyDad wrote:Just got back to the house from the match. We lost 2-3. OK Energy sitting in last place in U15, 16/17, and 18/19. 0 wins and
16 losses with a combined -53 GD between the 3. DA worthy??? What is the criteria then?
Going to be a long weekend in Frisco for the Okies.

If they aren’t worthy then neither are the Texans under those circumstances...right?05DD wrote:So 3 starters missing for Solar, including top scorer, and still they took care of business in OK?soccerphreak wrote:OkieEnergyDad wrote:Just got back to the house from the match. I don't think the poster was talking about the whole club. I took the comments to mean that our 05's was a quality team and a compliment. Heading down to Dallas on Fri evening for a Sat match with FC Dallas. Any score predictions?

You are probably right the poster was more than likely referring to the 05 team. But DA accepts clubs, not teams. Energy and Texans clubs just not up to snuff.

True. But shouldn't a club like Texans have access to the same pool of players as FCD and Solar, given the proximity of all 3? What are they doing right or what is Texans doing wrong?timmyh wrote:In all fairness, there aren't but a dozen or so clubs in the country who can slug it out with FCD and Solar and not leave town bloodied with their tail tucked between their legs.
Okie, what's your prediction for this weekend? I actually think your team will be fairly competitive.

I'd guess that they (Solar and FCD) have actually invested into the girl's side, while it seems Texans have not.

I believe those clubs are invested culturally in the girl's side which encompasses $ + coaching + experience. From the outside looking in, I believe (and many others agree) that HN hasn't done that to the same degree, which is resulting in the recent trend of poor results.
