Any surprises this weekend?

Is there any team that maxes out a roster with guests and then doesn’t play any of their regular players? I’m not sure that really happens. Maybe one guest player comes and may play significant time but that is rare, IMO.

Eddy- I should clarify- I did not mean none of the regular players play. I meant SOME of the regular players do not play in place of guests.

Hypothetically, a team with a roster of 13 healthy kids brings on strong guests to help in a tough game.  100% within the rules, but if I were one of the normal roster kids that the guest player took playing time from, I wouldn't be very happy.

That would certainly be disappointing but I’m sure this doesn’t really happen in the 09g landscape and if it does it’s only for injuries and only for only maybe 1-2 players and only for.......

I feel pretty confident that everyone has voiced their opinions on guest players on the previous post. It seems pretty simple to me... if you don't like guest players- don't play for a coach that uses guest players. You have a player whose playing time has been negatively impacted by guest players? You can either suck it up and wait for your player to develop... or find a new team where your kid is one of the best. This is competitive soccer. And if your daughter is playing against guest players and you don't like it? It's part of the game. Teach them to play 100% every single game. No matter who is on field. No need to decide what is the right strategy for every other team. Choose what is right for your kid and stop worrying about the rest. Just my two cents.

Pretty sure that’s what everyone is doing. People are just stating their opinions, like you have yours. Some think it is cheap way to play/win and some think it’s fine since it is within the rules. This forum is for discussion, right? Not a big deal no matter what you think.
