Re: LHGCL Fall Season
Agreed about TX Spirit's ranking, but they have a chance to jump into the top 10 with a win this next game against Megli. Cosmos could jump into top 10 as well if they win one or both upcoming games, then they would push FCD Blue further down with their 4 draws. FCD Central higher up than FCD Red and Blue is surprising to me. Bones losing to Lightning was a surprise too, but Lightning plays a very physical game (read their parents actually tell the girls to go out there and "bang them up") that is hard to predict.
I wonder how the top 5 in D2 would fare versus the bottom 5 of D1

A lot of the top 10-12 games will be complete nail biters. As for the Bones team, I think they probably just had an off game. Or maybe Lightning had an amazing day. I wouldn’t count Bones out though. After playing them several times this summer, my daughter contends they are one of the toughest matches in her opinion.

I heard Williamson was very physical and the ref wasn’t calling it. I wasn’t there though so who knows.

Sadly, this is a common occurrence with this team. It is unfortunate that the coach does not take a more active role in teaching the kids how to properly position themselves to keep from fouling/physically making unnecessary contact with the opposing player. We have played this team many times, and its frustrating; not because the girls keep using the same tactics; but because they haven’t been taught the correct way = coach fails to address and use as a teachable moment.
This has nothing to do with the team’s talent, it’s simply a coaching issue that is being overlooked.
Gotta love 11 year old soccer

Re: LHGCL Fall Season
Good job Solar Williamson on your recent win, there were no guest players, just some hungry players who wanted to win. What a great lesson for SS and their players, I bet they will learn from this and move on.
The good news is, there will be a lot of good games in the next three weeks, woohoo! I’m excited!
Wait...11?
