Re: LHGCL Fall Season
Good job Solar Williamson on your recent win, there were no guest players, just some hungry players who wanted to win. What a great lesson for SS and their players, I bet they will learn from this and move on.
The good news is, there will be a lot of good games in the next three weeks, woohoo! I’m excited!
Wait...11?

Re: LHGCL Fall Season
I try to be fair to everyone... Solar is the “evil empire” in NTX so I can see why they are an easy club to hate. Our team was once an independent and moved to Solar so I know what it’s like to be with the big or small club. I just worry about my girl and what’s best for her.
I saw your team is playing in the boys division this weekend... are you guys thinking it will help your girls be more physical? I thought the ‘09 girls division was strong enough to not have to play boys so I figure you have your reasons.

What’s the word on SRSC Ultra/Boost, I’ve heard the rumors so it will be fun to see the finished product.

Regarding SRSA, who really knows. It’s evolving so we will see.

I heard Williamson was very physical and the ref wasn’t calling it. I wasn’t there though so who knows.
Sadly, this is a common occurrence with this team. It is unfortunate that the coach does not take a more active role in teaching the kids how to properly position themselves to keep from fouling/physically making unnecessary contact with the opposing player. We have played this team many times, and its frustrating; not because the girls keep using the same tactics; but because they haven’t been taught the correct way = coach fails to address and use as a teachable moment.
This has nothing to do with the team’s talent, it’s simply a coaching issue that is being overlooked.
Gotta love 11 year old soccer
Solar East Gray taking shots at Solar East Williamson....Shocking! How's that for unity. LOL & SMH!

There is great drama every June. The two most dramatic is the transition to U11 and then now also at U13 with the forming of the DA/ECNL teams. Those are the primary spots where the most feelings get hurt.

And we do it without any guess players!

It was a great game!... 1-0 South at the half, 1-1 10 minutes into the 2nd half then 2-1 with 10 minutes left. The 3rd goal was scored in extra time. Hats off to South... our girls are looking forward to the rubber match in the Spring! Good night everyone!

Proph tells the truth it was a very nice game! The competition between our teams is fun. We win this one but maybe not the next. The Spring will be fun.

We are playing boys this weekend so that we can face bigger, stronger, faster competition that will beat us up with their size in hopes of speeding up our play without the stress of worrying about whether we win or not. We don’t really know what to expect because this is the first time we have played boys in a tourney. It may be the last time, depending on how it goes.

ProDallas wrote:How did it go against the boys? Did it provide the challenge you hoped for? From my dd's experience, good boy teams will certainly push the speed of play and make the girls adapt to great organization and passing. There's a lot less kick ball. On the other hand, being bigger and stronger hasn't been part of the experience at this age so far. I know that will change in the next few years. My observation has been that the boys very often go down with minimal contact (Neymar flopping influence?) and aren't accustomed to the physical, shoulder-to-shoulder play the girls have to bring to most of their classic league games. The boys' moms go crazy when girls are more physical than their boys. I get it, no boys or their parents want to lose to girls, but I have been shocked at how much more physical, on average, the girls are at this age...because they have to play that way based on how most classic league refs call the games.Cerv1973 wrote:To be honest, we are interested in going to Supercopa so we are using this weekend to get us ready for next weekend. If you are asking about the two girls teams that played in the U90 event this past weekend, neither made it out of group finishing 3rd in each group.
I expected more from them as I do have an older DD and normally see top girls teams pushing boys around at this age...

I love to read how some people throw punches at other teams w/o knowing what transpired on the field and why the outcome. You cannot be comparing older girls teams when they were this age. Kids are different year to year. The Neymar Syndrome amongst boys is real nowadays and refs buy into it. I have seen it when our DDs play indoor against boys.
Considering I was at my son's game to watch them play I do know what happened. If your amigo is referring to the Cosmos girls team their goal came from a free kick awarded top of the box dead center of the field. Their only real shot on goal and that was their one score. Cosmos goalie played very well and saved several that would have put the game out of reach.
And yes you can make a reference to girls playing boys as girls at this age are generally bigger, stronger, and more aggressive until puberty hits for the boys. Those factors alone generally play in the girls favor. Cosmos has a young lady that in fact towered over all the boys, played forward.
Like I said I was at the match.
