Tomorrow Sting vs Solar and D'Feeters vs Texans. Games will count towards PL and LHGCL. Sting has the Classic League sewed up for 1st place for the Fall season and the D'Feeter vs Texans game will more than likely settle 2nd spot for the Fall. Should be decent weather and good games. See ya out there!

Feet basically locks up PL#3 with Texans looking at PL#4.

Puts Feet in good position to advance to Regionals by either Sting Winning State Cup (assuming Hurricane win theirs) or by Feet winning State Cup outright (same position Texans were in last year).

Only way Texans make Regionals is by beating Feet and then Sting at State Cup.

"Congrats" to Feet and "Drats" to us.

Well, ok I'll try to give it a review...
Sting had two great shots. One was a great save by the HFC keeper, the other shot went wide. They may have had more shots, those are the only two I remember being dangerous.
HFC scored the first half on a great shot by a midfielder. The second score was from a foward during the second half.
IMO, HFC held possession very well and definitely had quite a few more shots on goal. It was a very good game! Fouls seemed minimal, although there were a few...

Switching games to Sunday, I was very impressed with Solar's defense!

I only watched the 2nd half, but came away thinking HFC had the better part of game (every aspect) by a wide margin.

HFC picked up 3 or 4 from TSC at tryouts (2 of which are 96's). They are a strong side for sure. The clubs are merging next year, curious how that will go.

I think Solar was helped by the narrow field Sunday. It had to be 10-15 yards more narrow than the one next to it that had 97's playing.

Hurricanes have really stepped it UP. They destroyed PL with 40 goals for and ZERO against. No other girls or boys PL team pitched a SHUTOUT for the season. Next closest 95 in goals against was Sting with 5. Even the 94s which have the back to back National Champions playing in it got close to a shutout for the season. 40 goals also lead the PL. Hurricanes dominated in goal differential. In all statistics we can easily check, Hurricanes were #1. Just not a case of a fluke goal here or there.

The other difference is a new coach. Don't know if the new guy is better or just a change in voice or some combination. All and all very impressive.

Congrats to the Hurricanes!

HFC always had the players who could score...especially the girl headed to OSU. What Shubert seems to have brought to them was a better defense. Don't know if Rein did not teach it as well...or the new girls just strengthened the back line...but they truly have stepped it up. They were already national title contenders. Now they have to at least be considered the favorites. But...so is Sting.
