04G Rankings

OK, I will get it started.
Just for fun. Keep in mind that there are around 50 teams spread out around the 04 Leagues,(including SDL, PSA, Primetime, etc.) so making the top 15 isn't too shabby.

Here is my top 15.
1.Liverpool Daglish
2.Solar Kennington
3.DT North
4.Fever
5.Rowdies (based mostly on reputation - if they lose to Texas Spirit this weekend, I will drop them down some)
6.Texas Spirit North
7.Texas Black Gold Elite - (Solid team, can move up if they can pull off some upsets this season against the top 6 teams.)
8.DT South (had some bad games recently, will move them back into the top 5 if they beat some top teams this season)
9.Aztecs
10.Odyssey
11.Wizards
12.Liverpool Beardsley (had some bad tournaments)
13.GSSC (Could be higher, let's see how they do)
14.Liverpool Barnes (Doing well so far)
15.Cosmos White

This season will show who moves up and who moves down.

That's why they are ranked ahead of Texas Spirit. But let's see how they do over the course of a whole season against all the top teams.

Thanks for starting this TCUDad! Should be fun to see how the season plays out with so many new teams playing Academy soccer for the first full season.

As long as Daglish is on top we know all is right in the world. I heard there might be a dirty south/Polaris merger soon.

DEUCEE'S DADDY

DT South's last poor tournament showing was due primarily to the team not being at 100% (illness/injury/vacations). On top of that they lost a player and picked one up. I hear the team is back to its normal play level and improving.

LP Barnes is looking good and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the top 10 soon.

Solar Chelsea is also significantly improved from 6 months ago. They are a solid D2 not far from D1 team.

I think these rankings look good right now for the most part.

One more thing on DT South... I hear that DT South 04 Curiel is becoming DT South 04 Adames.

Looks good but should point out....

Probably pointless to shoot outside the top 10 considering there are around another 30 teams playing most of us know little about. It is possible one or two of those newer teams could belong in the top 10 but more likely several of them would belong in the top 20.

True, but most of the remaining teams out there haven't played any tournaments and their coaches haven't felt comfortable enough to play them in either Primetime or SDL League. The 20 I have listed have already proven something on the field against proven competition. Some of the newer 04 teams will eventually work their way into the top 20 but they have to prove it on the field first.

What ever happened to that Andro team that was tops?

They were spotted this summer playing as "Fair Play" and I believe they are under FC Dallas East now.

Really most of the andro team 04G disintegrated... FC dallas may have about 4 to 5 of the girls..

Might be the case now, but our 05 team squared off with them at Sportsplex several times over the summer and it was the same team, different tshirts and the same lovely Umbro shorts. Good team I will say, sad if they didnt hold together.

Not exactly. 9 of the 10 on the current roster are from the Andro '04 group. The vast majority of the '04 group left Andro in May to work with Ciro Martinez and played independent as "Fair Play" this summer at Sportsplex and Blue Sky Allen. The girls are playing UAL in the Fall as FC Dallas 04G Ciro and practice in Plano at Carpenter.

Must've been the merger of the DIV1 and DIV3 teams....

We're talking about over a year ago not recently.

Top four or five went to Kat about a year ago. I believe a couple of them are on Dalglish and one is at Rowdies. That Andro team was good!

Futsal is Futsal

My 99 still plays with kids who play on other teams but who we have played with since the kids were 4. You can't compare futsal or indoor to outdoor play.

3 years away.... Teams and girls will change. Today superstar is the next highschool cheerleader (excpet the 2 percent who are special)

Dalglish and Kennington play in 03 so they are irrelevant for these rankings.

1. DT North Rosales--nice win in the primetime tournament
1b. Fever United--some good tournament wins this summer and last spring
3. Lady Aztecs--1st place in one tournament this summer, very competitive.
4. DT South--good showing in some tournaments this summer. Up and down team.
4b. GSSC--3rd in Primetime Champions Cup, beat DT South twice in primetime. Also beat TB Gold 4-2.
6. Odyssey--very good defensive team
7. TB Gold Elite--gave up 8 goals to DT North Rosales in August tournament.
8. Texas Spirit North--gave up 8 goals to Solar Kennington in June tournament.
9. LP Beardsley--very competitive in tournaments this summer
10. LP Barnes--also very competitive.

DT North Rosales is way ahead of the pack. Fever Red has lost a few good players but they still have a solid group of athletes. Look at Dalglish and Kennington for reference. Good teams don't give up 5 plus goals in a game. When you watch those teams play, the coach is also exhorting his players to get back and defend. In my opinion, the sign of a good team in the making is the ability to keep the score low by playing good defense.

DT South may lose some games but rarely do they give up 5 goals. They are very consistent on defense but inconsistent on offense.

Solar Kennington 04 is playing in both the 03 league and the 04 league.

TX spirit is a better team than the summer tournament results indicate. Some of their best players were not available for some of the games. Their game last weekend against Solar Kennington is a better representation. They easily could have tied or won that game. DTS is also regrouping and will likely be stronger than their summer results would indicate. One or two star players can make a big difference in 7 v 7.

1. LP Dalglish - deepest team with speed and athleticism, best tactics, will be tough to beat by an 04 team
2. DTN Rosales - similar style as LP and the only 04 team with a good chance to beat them
3. Solar Kennington - well-rounded team with good defense and strong finishers
4. DT Rowdies - based mostly on last spring's results, ranking could change
5. Fever Red - many strong players and will likely win Primetime
6. DTS - may move up if they add some offensive firepower to their already strong defense
7. TX spirit - always have a chance to win when their best players are in
8. LP Beardsley - good team although some players may want to move to Dalglish
9. Lady Aztecs - skillful style is fun to watch
10. TBG - dangerous offense can hurt you


The best girls on most of these teams can hang with each other. The top teams have more of the strong players. Just my opinion.
